Politics: Whose Side is God on?

Is God on the Republican Party’s side or the Democratic Party’s side? This article explains my views about God, politics and man.

Recently Reverend William Owens attacked President Obama for Obama’s political stance on Gay Marriage.  Some might say he demonized Obama.

But whose side is God really on? Does God side with the Republicans because they want to place Him in the US Constitution? Does God side with the Democrats because they fight for the poor, the needy, the disabled and our war veterans?  Does God side with the Republicans because they fight for the unborn?

We each draw up an image of God according to our interpretation of the Bible. God does not conform to our image of Him.

The most difficult concept for some people is this; Anything God does is right simply because He is God.

Out Lord Jesus once said that no man shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven except by Him. To me, that means that Jesus has the final say on who enters the Kingdom of Heaven. It does not say who will or will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven because we do not know what is in a person’s heart. Some people believe that Judas Iscariot is in hell because he betrayed our Lord. Judas may have repented during the last few seconds of his life. Who are we to pass such a judgement?

The bottom line is that we are all children of God and we all rely on His infinite mercy. God loves us all and wants to share the Kingdom of Heaven with all of us. So whose side is God on? God is with all the people in the world, regardless of their religious beliefs. He is watching over every one of us and loving every one of us.
