Published by The Red Sea. For those who do not know, there were approximately 600,000 Jewish slaves under Egyptian rule. Moses, who was a Jew, became an Egyptian. This happened in his infancy when his mother sent him up the river in a basket to save his life, and a royal Egyptian took the child as her own. This royal was married to the Pharaoh. Moses wasn’t just an adopted Egyptian; he became the son of their king. Upon learning of his heritage and coming of age to understand things of the spiritual and moral realm, Moses did the unthinkable. He turned against his dad and their people and as God guided him, He began to war with Pharaoh that his Jewish people be freed. After many confrontations and plagues, Pharaoh finally conceded. The Egyptians wanted these people gone, long before Pharaoh did. They began to understand that these people truly and certainly were God’s people and they had made them into slaves. They gifted the departing Jewish tribe with many of their own possessions, so eager were they for God’s people and God’s wrath to leave them.
Pharaoh and his army, in a last ditch effort to retain his slaves, went after them. How hard could it be to catch them? After all, they were on the road, they had no weapons, they must be hungry and exhausted. As they approached the Red Sea, God commanded Moses to hold his staff over the waters that they may part and the slaves could cross. When the Eyptians began to make their way across after them, the bible says that God made the Egyptians wheels fall off of their chariots. You would’ve thought that He’d just let the waters cave-in on them, but God is simply better than that. Here it is, proof. Do you really want it? Will seeing make you believe? When we read the article about the Red Sea Crossing, we see the exact route that was taken and why. We see where they crossed and how. We can see many, many chariot wheels in the bottom of the Red Sea. Chariot wheels. There are some bones and other pieces of the chariots, but primarily there are wheels. One of the only substances that would last throughout all these centuries was the gold that the Egyptians used for their wheels. Think God knew this at the time? Course He did. There has always been proof. The question has become why do some people believe the proof, the facts, while others do not? The bible specifically says that not all will see the truth for the truth is not in them. Think about that, the truth is not in them. What does that mean? Do they go around lying all the time, are they unable to understand the difference between a lie and the truth or do they simply not care what the truth is? Look at Pharoah for instance. He had firsthand experience with God and His wrath. God had hardened the Pharoahs’ heart. I assume, which is something I hate to do, that God had come to a time with the Pharoah and knew that he wouldn’t let these people go freely. Satan had his hold on Pharoahs’ pride and we all should know that pride goeth before a fall and fall he did. Pharoah lost his firstborn son because he wouldn’t believe the proof set before him and there was plenty.
Perhaps we should pray that the truth, good or bad, be revealed to us for quite clearly oftentimes it is not. I do believe, however, that it is truly finished, whatever “it” is. The further we depart from deceit and lies, the closer to being given the truth we come. When I was saved, that was all that I wanted, the truth. I wanted to know if God was real, I wanted to know if He was who He claimed to be and I wanted to know, that somewhere, real love actually existed. It does and God has it all. Sure our parents love us, but we don’t belong to our parents, nor our parents to theirs. We belong to God, and that is the love that we truly seek for it exceeds the imagination, it exceeds our known reality for it is a true love, without limitations, without boundaries. It isn’t a love based on sex or on committment, but on creation. We are His creation and He gave His most precious gift for us to be saved, to be loved. Here is proof. Love.
