Reconciliation After Adultery, The Peacekeeper and Inner Peace

Regardless of popular opinion about the governor of South Carolina, it is up to God, the governor, and his wife to decided where to go next in their lives.

Does it seem that there is a lot of animosity towards that South Carolina Governor and Michael Jackson.  For the record neither of these two people have done anything to me.  Furthermore, I have stated before that it is not my job to hate anyone.

I never believed that Michael had any sexual interest in children.  If you are rich, some one is going to try and black mail.  In addition, a person is found guilty in a court of law, not the court of public opinion.

Major Garret of Fox News, in my opinion, appears to be upset with the SC governor.  He speaks with a certain annoyance and appears to want to ridicule this governor.

In this world, there is a big difference between a person who has had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior and a person who has not had this experience.  At the news conference of the governor, I saw genuine Christian nature.  On occasion, I tell people that the Holy Spirit justifies one believer to another.

This will mean nothing to you if you have not had a persona encounter with Jesus.  The reason being that the Holy Spirit now dwells in those of us who are sincere about our belief in Jesus.  Therefore, we are no longer the person we used to be in life.

We are not perfect, nor do we aspire to be so.  We are susceptible to temptation.  In addition, we sin as much or maybe even more than non-believers.

One may wonder then why even say we are Christians.  The reason is that Jesus called and we answered.  Even if we wanted to step back, we could not because our hearts and minds are no open to pure love He has to offer and His great sacrifice on our behalf.

This is true for the SC governor.  His spiritual nature reflects the Holy Spirit.  I believe he is my brother in faith.

In addition, I wish him and his family well.  I know that there a lot of people who want blood.  These people do not matter.

Reconciliation, under the terms set forth by God, is possible for the governor and his wife.  The center of all Christians should be God, not Major Garret or any one else with a soul filled with hate.  Therefore, the governor and his wife should enter in to prayer and seek God’s guidance.

My marriage advising begins with love.  The first question I ask of both people in the marriage is “Is there enough love in you for your spouse to want to try”.  This question is crucial because with out love there is no motive to try.

My next step is to get the people involved to agree that there will be no recriminations for past acts.  This is not easy to do because everyone always has a grocery list of complaints.  I usually win the argument by emphasizing that two mature adults are required to have a successful relationship in order for the relationship to work and mature adults do not invest in pettiness.

Then I help them understand what may have gone wrong.  I look at both of them and say,” I am going to tell you your lives even though I do not know you.  You do not have that great relationship with your parents.  You make plans but do not follow through.  At times, you feel lost and frustrated.  You know something is missing you just do not know what this missing element is in your life.  You never took time to get to know yourself or your partner before you got seriously involved.  Now, you feel uncomfortable, hurt, and more lost.”

This rhetoric usually results in a fight.  Therefore, I ask them to correct me where I was wrong.  Regardless, of what they say I ask them to give examples as proof.  People are thinkers.  They just do not practice what they think.  Therefore, in their minds my observations of them are wrong.  However, their behaviors show that I am right.

We know that the governor has been married for a long time.  If he meets modern standards, he never entered into self-discovery and invested in knowing his wife before he married her.  This governor probably had parents who did not meet his emotional needs and who offered very little guidance.  His ideas of the world are fantastical, idealistic, and dreamy.

The purity of love is wrong as a modern concept.  We, in our modern, world believe love is an emotion.  Let me correct you by telling you that love is a behavior.  It is working, taking care off, hugs, kisses, joking, keeping company, inspiring, comforting, protecting, being faithful, and so on.

In my life, I have never been in love with two real people at the same time.  I am in love with Joan Jett and Angelina Jolie but these are abstract people, who I only see in video.

I love my ex-wife.  I love Lady X.  I love MGC.  These are real woman, who I have known.  Of course, I hide their identities.   I even love IES.

I doubt I will love again.  Love has to be honest and sincere.  When it is real and honest it is permanent.   This is a security element.  It contributes greatly to our mental health to trust that the one we love will always be there in our lives.

Unfortunately, we live in disgusting word.  Over time, we have torn down all the good principle of life for fornication.  We are a sex-obsessed society.

However, look at the results.  It is my contention that the SC governor is a sexually immature man who was looking for sex from a person he considers more attractive then his wife.  Again, I state, that in order for true healing to occur, full disclosure is necessary.

This governor does not have to tell me anything.  I am not the one he needs to bare his soul to.  Against popular sentiment, I even offer that he does not have to bare his soul to his wife or his mistress.  He needs to bare his soul himself.

He needs to ask him self, “If I am a good and decent person, why I am deliberately inflicting pain on other people?”  Selfish people usually cannot answer this question.

However, true peace comes from being truly aware for the motives behind our behaviors.  A man’s character is his shield of honor.  I cannot see peace in a man’s mind.  However, his behavior will give evidence of his peace.

Remember that in a previous article I wrote that the true measure of a person is their personal peace.   This governor is obviously not at peace.  His wife is not at peace.  No persons who want to hate them are at peace either.

There is no need for another tragedy.  God is powerful.  If the governor and his wife want inner peace, they need to seek the peacekeeper, i.e. Christ.

My standards have no place here.  Major Garret’s standards have no place here either. The only people who can decide where to go are Jesus, the governor, and his wife.
