I am living in a traditional Chinese society and a close-knit traditional Chinese family.  I can say to you that you are a very strong person because you can manage your sanity inside your shell while you belong to this king of society or family.  I can relate to those who are oppressed with this damn traditional Chinese culture, and I am looking for ways how to get out of criticisms of the norms of the Chinese society.

Maybe Chinese people would consider me a jester because they could not understand what I am saying.  But, I would prefer to be called an eloquent idealist and artisan.  In a traditional Chinese culture, it is very common for elders to compare the children with other children in terms of cultural, intellectual, and wealth.  For the elders, it is very disappointing to become a failure, especially when your clan is the most highly respected in the Chinese community of the third world nation.

During Christmas reunion of an ordinary traditional Chinese family, everyone is faking their smiles.  The elders and the second generation bastards are willing to break the heart of those who have the Christmas spirit.  Money is a very prioritized issue and highly valued by common Chinese people.  For the traditional Chinese people, they would neglect their godly principles, pride, and dignity just to have their pockets full of money.  Due to their value of money, friends become enemies and enemies become friends.

I can say that Filipinos and those who are oppressed by the rules of the Chinese culture can relate with me.  It is a truly a grace of God even though I have few friends who can support me mentally and emotionally and even I have fake friends who are stabbing me at the back.  I also have a loving and forgiving father who is considered as my most precious and treasured family member.

Therefore, I am a truly Tsinoy by blood with a true Pinoy heart.  I am willing to dare myself to take off my mask.  I am advocating freedom of expression as a prevention against the abusive traditional Chinese culture.  As I am saying, I am revealing to you the absolute truth.  For those who want to follow my lead, I would like to share these Bible verses to you.  Keep them in your heart and mind.

In Joshua 1:9 (NKJV), it says, “Have I  not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

In Daniel 3:17 (NKJV), it says, “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.”

In Job 36:7 (NKJV), it says, “He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous; But they are on the throne with kings, for He has seated them forever, and they are exalted.”

In Psalm 34:15 (NKJV), it says, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His eyes are open to their cry.”

In conclusion to this sentiments, I would like to proclaim to you the whole absolute truth which is kept by the arrogant and bastards from their followers.  The whole absolute truth can be recognized if we are fully determined to acknowledge our identity with our Supreme Being.  And, the whole absolute truth would liberate the oppressed.  Therefore, I promote wisdom and truth instead of boasting foolishness and lies.  I am advocating freedom of expression.  It is very disappointing that I am judged by some fools and bastards of this society.   Moreover, I am yearning for liberation of spirit, mind, and soul.

I can relate to everything you wrote. You know sometimes, the atmosphere of traditional Chinese culture is sometimes stiffling, and I felt this recently. Even listening to (western) music aloud is frowned upon (in my family) not that music isn’t allowed, but any sign of dissent or “rebellion” is not tolerated. Although nowadays, the new generation of parents tend to be more liberal, western, and open. However, I am still proud of my (our) Chinese heritage and culture, only that some aspects of it are a dark side of Confucianism.
