Salvation Thoughts Upon The Adoption of Malachi Macinta

I am not sure how often it occurs, but probably thousands of times each month a child is born that the parents are unable to keep, do not want, or the parents die. To me this is quite sad. However, since committing to Christ I have learned that God certainly can take a sad situation and turn it into a good and joyful one.

It was February 2009 when emergency medical personnel who had responded to a maternity call learned that the birth mother would not keep her child, a boy. Delaware Family Services was notified of the situation and they were soon in contact with my son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Jennifer.

Upon meeting the child and taking care of him they went ahead with plans to adopt him. After a small legal snafu, the process was completed by the end of the year, two weeks and a day after Keaton was born to Jennifer and Jonathan. So now in one month they have a “natural” son born, Keaton Zane Macinta, and one son officially adopted, Malachi Dawson Macinta, with another child whose case is still pending.

And while being blessed with a child naturally is very beautiful, adoption has a beauty of its own as the Holy Bible describes. Once we commit to Christ, we are in Him, the Way, and by the Holy Spirit Paul writes in Ephesians 1:5, “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.”

Please take the time to read verses six to twelve. Those that are born again though still having a sin nature are accepted, redeemed through Christ’s blood, receive forgiveness for sins, and much more. In that passage is shown that God will reveal His will to us, especially as it pertains to our life. The passage in Ephesians also shows us the sum of the process, that we might be unto the praise and glory of God. That is what lasts forever.

Jon and Jen have done, and will continue to do everything they can to help Malachi grow physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. And so does God, and even more, for those who place their trust in Him and remain in Him.

And just as it is an act of the will for a husband and wife to take on a child that is not biologically from them, God willfully accepts, redeems, and, among other things, cleanses those who truly and fully commit to Him in Christ.

God willfully loves you now, no matter who you are and will adopt anyone that comes to Him in faith and contriteness of heart.

It is God’s plan for Malachi. He never forsake His children. I hope and pray Malachi will be a boy and then a man who please God.
