Salvation Thoughts Upon The Arrival of Keaton Macinta

While many rejoice upon hearing of a birth, no matter where that child is or who their parents are, they enter into a world tainted with sin and join the rest of us who have a sin nature. Yet, just over 2000 years ago, at the right time, God intervened to correct this otherwise hopeless situation.

It was with great joy that Dorcas and I had the honor to personally meet and hold a new grandson, Keaton, in early December 2009. As we live on earth, we will be praying that Keaton will commit to Christ sometime before he leaves this world. We pray that for all of our descendants who have not committed to Christ or once did, but are no longer committed.

Whether it is Keaton, you or myself, we all inherit a sin nature, the tendency to disobey God, from Adam. The Holy Scriptures (Romans 7) state it is this sin nature that prevents us from being perfect as God wants us to be. Our acts of disobedience against God are proof that the sin nature is present in us. Romans 5:16 further shows that all are condemned because of the sin nature.

Yet, God was very merciful, intervening in this dismal situation by being veiled in flesh, directed by the Holy Spirit, victorious over sin, and crucified for our sin (Philippians 2:5-11).

So, though Keaton with a sin nature joins a sinful world there is great hope for him and everyone else, provided that each one fully commits to Messiah. It is written in John 3:18, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

The Holy Scriptures make it very clear that the type of belief Messiah was speaking of was one of complete trust in, and a full commitment to, Him. When we do this, though we go through temptations and troubles as we liveĀ  on earth, if we remain committed to Him and keep trusting Him, He blesses us despite all problems and then we go on to our eternal reward. He grants an inner strength to those that rely on Him provided they stay focused on Him and are willing to receive direction from Him.

We welcome Keaton into this present world praying that one day he will accept the Savior’s invitation to God’s Kingdom.

It is also our prayer that all who read this will commit to, and trust in, Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah.

Congratulations! Every baby is a precious gift from God, but I think that a grandchild must be an extra special treasure.

Congrats on your new grandson. He’s cute as a button and we pray he does come to Christ. So many children need parents and it such a blessing to hear when children are adopted.
