At a large church in Australia they had two mini-buses that did several rounds picking people up and dropping them off from church. This is an invaluable service and churches should provide this to their towns, cities and villages.
In every major town and city in the United Kingdom surely a network of churches amongst themselves or with the local bus network provide a partnership for all people to attend church.
Some churches are very wealthy and should support other churches in the UK. I am against UK churches supporting people abroad when there is so much need at home.
There would be key pick up and drop off points for people who cannot get to church because of lack of funds, a special pick up point for hostels for the homeless I feel is a must even if they just come for a bite to eat and a drink they are being ministered to.
There should be one for drug dealers, prostitutes and the down and out. We do not look down on them but value them as God would. Would this work in reality, how many churches do this, is it cost effective and do people use it? Should it matter what denomination you belong to all should be included in this scheme?
Your thoughts on this great ministry, We should provide transport for those who require it, in a church of 1000 maybe 10% may use it; the rest may car share which can make a church more carbon neutral.
There are many people, who could not get to church otherwise including single mothers and disabled people, we should not be afraid of the cost. If transport or cost is a barrier then the church will meet the needs of their community in this way and perhaps may increase numbers to your congregation.
