This is a sensitive area that should be taken into deep consideration by a parent. Some people believe that it is wrong for parents to force their own beliefs, values and opinions on their children. Although this view poses the question of how children can develop their own values and beliefs if they have no experience or knowledge to make informed decisions in the future.
If a child is not aware of the intricies of a particular faith, then will they be informed enough to make decisions in the future? Many parents use their faith to teach their children morals and principles and to make sure that they know the difference between right and wrong.
It seems that many parents are choosing not to pass their faith or beliefs on to their children looking at attendance in church by young families. However, is it possibl to use this as an explanation for the absence. It is possible that the decline in attendance is simply due to the busy lives people lead in the modern world or that practicing your religion has become unfashionable.
The sense of community between people sharing their faith can be a fantastic way for children to become a part of thier community and aware of others around them. Is it possible that the sense of community is also in decline?

its very true that children must be give idea about religion. Though I am not a staunch believer myself, i would say that young minds must be thought about religion and it for them to later decide whether there is truth in religion and god. This is a point that I will ponder about.. I am not sure if i would teach my children(when I have them) about religion. You have given me a good point to think about
