In ice hockey there is the ‘sin bin’ which is the penalty box where players are sent for a while for committing a serious foul. God’s sin bin is not just for a few minutes but for the rest of our lives and eternity.
The bible says that “For from within, out of man’s heart, comes evil thoughts, sexual immorality, murder, adultery, greed and arrogance” This includes our thoughts, words, deeds and actions. That means that only God is perfect and without sin.
The source of this sin comes from the heart, so does this reflect upon our actions. To encourage you to accept life more a phrase says “Be sure your sins will not catch you out”. This phrase really speaks for it self don’t you agree?
Whatever your sins are they stop us getting near to God and man cannot remove sin himself not even by doing good deeds. A demonstration of God was shown as Christ became a sacrifice for our sins to make us clean so we could approach God therefore we need to repent of our sins and let God forgive them.
You have to decide personally whether you want to choose God’s ways or the ways of the world. That requires a change of heart but will you let God do that? We are always tempted to do what we want but it is according to God’s will for our lives so we can sin again. I trust God with my life no matter what happens to me so can you?
As in ice hockey you have a true potential by being on the ice, scoring goals and developing your skills but if you commit an offence you are punished by loosing valuable time. If you do not realise and expect the Holy Spirit to convict you of your sins you are holding yourself back for what God has for you.
A leading financial company’s slogan says “We cannot change your past but we can change your future”. Is that what you need today if so God could be part of your solution!. God Bless you today.
