paul said that if there is no one to interpret the tongue then you are to keep silent and speak in private…so anyone just babbling on and on in the congregration with no one to interpret is being disobedient to gods word…its plain n simple

As Children of God we should definately be evangelist and win souls for the Lord. Let JEHOVAH will be done in our lives today.

Very good points, especially when you mentioned that tongues are only one of the spiritual gifts. It ceases to be a gift when it is demanded.
I have been in churches where many people were speaking in tongues, but it was part of the worship time and it was beautiful and meaningful, and not everyone took part – only those moved by the spirit.
My church does not emphasize this gift, but people who feel spirit led to speak in tongues during worship time are not discouraged from doing so, any more than those who lift their hands.

You’re forgetting the other obvious problem with the speaking in tongues as takes place in the Pentecostal and other churches like them… the rest of Acts tells us that speaking in tongues means the individual speaking and EVERYONE HEARING IT IN THEIR OWN TONGUE. The babbling nonsense spewed by Pentecostals is just that… nonsense. The bible tells us so.
