Whenever a high-ranking government official or a celebrity actor/actress visits a community, residents as well as local officials exert much effort in the preparation of their stay. If motorcade is involved, route of the parade is carefully laid out. Streets are cleaned, gutters are repainted, potholes are repaired, and garbage is picked up. Places they will visit will be well-decorated and those who will meet them will put on their finest attires.Food are abundant and prepared by the best chefs, everything possible is done to give their elite guests the best reception they deserve.

I wonder if we will exert the same effort if ever our Lord Jesus Christ will visit our home. If a world leader or a matinee idol merits such thorough preparation, certainly the Lord of the universe deserves far more.

In the Bible, John, the baptizer advised the people to get ready for the Messiah. He called for the removal of spiritual obstacles (Luke 3: 10-14).
- Mountains of pride and abuse must be leveled.
- Valleys of human need must be filled.
- Crooked, immoral paths must be straightened.
- Rough places of oppression must be made smooth.
If we really want to have a close relationship with God and we want our hearts to be prepared for the Lord, we should start by removing the spiritual obstacles like pride, immorality, abusiveness, cruelty, dishonesty, and the likes in our system. Once these obstructions are cleared, our Lord can walk through the streets of our lives with power and peace.

WE ARE OUR OWN OBSTACLES. I’M WORKING ON A STUDY ABOUT STUMBLING BLOCKS AND WHEN WE ALLOW OBSTACLES(LYING,FORNICATION,HATRED) TO COME ABOUT WE CANNOT LEAD OTHERS TO CHRIST
