If there is one thing we need in this country, it is a spiritual revolution.

Revolution- A dramatic and far-reaching change in ways of thinking and behaving!

If we look through the pages of history, we can find numerous revolutionaries.

  1. Christopher Columbus who set sail to find a country that would be founded on godly principles.
  2. Abraham Lincoln who looked around and realized that not everyone is free and wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. He gave his life for this message.
  3. Martin Luther King Jr. who also gave his life to bring racial equality with his “I Have A Dream ” speech.

In bible times there were revolutionaries. People who were called by God to change things that weren’t right.

  1. Moses was the ultimate Revolutionary. He was a Hebrew as the slaves who was also raised among Egyptians who beat them. Moses was called to go get God’s people.
  2. John The Baptist was specifically born to prepare the way for the Messiah. His message was simple.”Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” John called Pharisees and Saducces a brood of snakes. It doesn’t matter what your appearance is, it is your life that must change. John called people to change the way they think and act.
  3. Jesus is a revolutionary and on many fronts. He was unlike any other teacher who came along because he taught as one with authority. Jesus came to proclaim freedom to the captives. When Jesus ascended back in to Heaven, He passed the baton to us.

Each of us has to experience a spiritual revolution. A change in how we think and how we act. The thing about a revolution is it keeps going and influences future generations. Today, we experience what Christopher Columbus, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr. started because someone picked up the baton and ran with it.

In bible times, people continued what Moses, John The Baptist and Jesus started the same way. They knew their messages couldn’t die.

Today we live in times when we can’t and must not allow the message of Jesus Christ die in our nation. We can’t allow the enemy to silence us with fairness doctrines, government invasion in to our internet habits and government run healthcare. These things are not a question of which political party we belong to however, whom we stand for!

Sometimes we get comfortable in our freedoms and the knowledge that for us, victory is secure. This is exactly why we need a revolution. Our calling hasn’t changed to proclaim the gospel in our nation. We have victory however, there is still work to do.

Looking back, Elizabeth, Mary and Zechariah all knew the teachings in the Old Testament including the prophecies about the coming of Jesus. They had to realize their place in events that would change humanity forever. All of them had their lives invaded in the midst of impossible circumstances, called by God to obedience.

Likewise, God invades our lives in the midst of impossible circumstances in our society and spirituality, Calling us to obedience.

If we really believe that victory is secure, What are we waiting for? Jesus spoke it all too well when he said,” I will build my church, and the gates of Hell will not conquer it.” (Matthew 16:18 NLT)
