Very many christians are yet to come to terms with the authority they possess in Christ Jesus. No wonder many christians live defeated and frustrated lives. Many even suffer from sicknesses, diseases, poverty, fear, barreness, oppression etc. This ought not to be.

We need to understand that the authority the christian possesses transcends this earth realm. Our authority as christians covers the earth, heavens and the sea. The bible says that at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over things in the heavens, in the earth and under the earth. But the story does not end here, because Jesus had made us his representives here on earth and therefore given us the power of attorney to act on his behalf.

We are ambassadors of Christ. It is quite unfortunate today that many christians are afraid of the devil when the devil is actually afraid of them. Many even have the erroneous idea that the devil is very powerful. There is nothing more farther from the truth. The devil is not powerful, in fact the devil has been defeated by Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are powerful than the devil. We have complete authority over him. The bible says in Luke10:19, “Behold, I give unto you authority to tread upon snakes and scorpions and over every power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Friends, I am sure you are excited to see this but this is the absolute truth.

As christians, when we call the name the name of Jesus, the devils flees in terror. The bible says resist the devil and he will flee from you. Sickness, fear and poverty bow to the name of Jesus. I charge every christian reading this article to wake up and stop running away from the devil. The bible says, “Greater is he that is us than he that is in the world.” We are more than conquerors.

The authority we possess has been given to us by God himself through Jesus Christ. Only those who are born again can take advantage of this awesome authority. Peradventure, you are reading this article and you are not born again. Simply confess Jesus Christ as your Lord today and he will accept.

God bless you.

Be careful not to fall into the sin of pride. You have no authority in and of yourself. The Bible does say resist and it does say to arm yourself but that means clinging to Christ and living your life in Christ. Nowhere does the Bible or Jesus say go and fight the devil and announce your authority over him. The Apostle Paul lived in poverty at times and had a thorn in his side that many believe was a sickness or a sight problem. You seem to have fallen into the somewhat imbalanced teaching of the faith camp. I am afraid that your views do not line up with scriptures. The Devil approached Jesus directly in the wilderness and addressed God face to face in the book of Job and did not flee in terror. What makes you think you can take the Devil on by yourself and that he has no power? Go back and read the scriptures in context before you get yourself in trouble…
