Syria “Not Eligible” So Guest Invitation

Initially, as the AP and AFP news on Thursday (04/28/2011), United Kingdom to invite Syria through the Syrian ambassador to Britain, Sami Khiyami, attended the wedding. However, that decision turned out to invite criticism. You see, Syria gets bad rating currently associated handling of government in pro-democracy demonstrations.

Because of the Syrian government action, the British government summoned the Khiyami. In the end, exit statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) English if the presence Khiyami “unacceptable”. The contents of the statement also included the words of Buckingham Palace that “also think matching”.

Earlier, more than 400 people were reportedly killed in the past month amid the Syrian Government’s efforts to curb anti-government protests. The British government called for an end to repression of the people and the granting of political freedoms.
Not only that, the British Foreign Ministry also said that representatives from countries that have official diplomatic relations were invited for the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. “Invitations that does not mean approval for the actions of the government, just because we have diplomatic relations with the countries concerned,” British Foreign Ministry statement so.
