- When you give money you’re not giving by how much it can be exchanged for your giving by how much time it took to get that money
- God doesn’t look at how much you give but what part of your life it took to make it
- Giving money is a way of worshiping God
FINANCES ARE IMPORTANT
- The enemy says that money doesn’t matter
- 20% of the bible deals with money
MONEY IS NOT EVIL
- Timothy 6:10 “The love of money is the root of all evil”
- Lots of money is ok but don’t love it
- If we have money we can put our kids through university so there is Christian doctors, lawyers, editors, TV producers, otherwise non-Christians will start to take over
IMPROPER ATTITUDES TOWARDS MONEY CAN HURT YOU
- Money is very powerful
- Money amplifies the bad habits within you because it gives you power to do bad things
- God won’t bless you because he knows you won’t go where you are called and you will leave the call of God
MONEY DOESN’T GUARANTEE HAPPINESS
- “If I had more money I would be happy” – wrong because you will always want more
- Joy comes from Jesus, not paying your bills
- If you don’t love it, it can’t hurt you
- In whatever state, be content but that doesn’t mean stay there
PEOPLE ARE NOT DESTINED TO BE POOR
- Ecclesiastes 5:19 “And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life, this is indeed a gift from God”
- The enemy says that Christians should be poor
GOD WANTS US TO BE PROSPEROUS
- Ecclesiastes 9:13-16-the world’s attitude and we are trying to reach the world
YOU CAN INCREASE YOUR FINANCES
- Joshua 1:8 “Study this book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in everything you do”
- You make your way prosperous because God already has everything – pray and you will receive blessings
- God sees money as seed
- When you hurt financially, plant more seed
GOD CARES ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU GIVE
- Mark 10:29-30 – “Yes”, Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house of brothers or sisters or mother of father or children of property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property-along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.
- What we give will determine the seed that comes back
MONEY IS A SPIRITUAL SUBJECT
- Malachi 3:10 – Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do, say’s the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test.
GIVE EXPECTING TO RECEIVE
- Luke 6:38 – Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
- If you plant seed something will grow for you
- You reap what you sew
