THE BIBLE IS NO MYTH – PLEASE READ AND VIEW THE VIDEO

The claim the Bible is nothing more than a compilation of old mythologies from ancient times is a common argument heard from skeptics.  It has already been proven wrong over and over by the evidence.  In many cases the myth relied upon only has limited similarity to the Bible account to which it is being compared.  The arguer has either failed to do their homework, or is making false claims to try and prove their position.

There are other instances where there are cases of borrowing a story, but in such cases the Bible was the underlying source of the pagan myth, not the other way around.  For instance, Sargon according to legend was placed in a reed basket and sent down a river by his mother and adopted by Aqqi as his own son.  This obviously is much like the story of Moses in Exodus 2.  Sargon is reported to have lived 800 years before Moses was born.  All of this sounds questionable which is why the critics love this one until you study for yourself and learn Sargon comes from legends written many hundreds of years after his death.  Specifically, the legend of Sargon is reported to come from two 7th century BC cuneiform tablets, written hundreds of years after the book of Exodus.  The only logical conclusion is Sargon is a copy of the story of Moses from Exodus 2

The fact is there are many fairy tales, myths, legends, and other texts from throughout history claiming to provide a divine message from God or the gods.  The Bible, however, is proven to be no fairy tale.  It consists of 66 books by 40+ authors, written over 1000s of years, in three different languages, and despite all of that fits together perfectly from start to finish.  It is an integrated message system from God directly to you and me.  Thus, skeptic or no skeptic, if you want to know God, his plan for you and the human race all you have to do is read the Bible.  It contains no contradictions and is as relevant today as it was when it was written.

The veracity of the Bible has been confirmed by the writings within its covers and outside its covers countless times through biology, geology, astronomy, and archeology.

It is not in conflict with any true scientific facts.

Archeology alone has substantiated the veracity of the Bible.  Examples obviously include the Dead Sea Scrolls, the basalt stone containing the “House of David” inscription, and a stone inscribed with the name of Pontius Pilate who ordered the death of Jesus our Lord and Savior.  Archeologists during the last century alone have discovered 1000s of artifacts verifying the accuracy of the Bible.

The Bible is discusses numerous historically documented people such as Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus, Herod, Felix, Pilate, and others, and coincides with geographical locations and historical empires such as the Persians, Egyptians, and Romans.  In fact, the Bible is the most documented book ever from the Ancient World with more than 24,000 whole or partial biblical manuscripts in existence.

Within the covers of the Bible, unlike mythology, it contains a multitude of fulfilled prophesies.  In fact, approximately 1/3 of the Bible is prophesy, some fulfilled already and some that will be fulfilled in the future.  It contains in excess of 1800 predictions involving in excess of 700 different subjects.  The OT has hundreds of prophesies concerning Jesus Christ with incredible specificity, that were fulfilled hundreds of years later.  An example of this is Psalms 22 that describes Jesus’ crucifixion in graphic detail hundreds of years before it happened.  Incredibly, the crucifixion was a Roman invention not even in existence when Psalms 22 was written.

The mathematical odds of someone accurately making the number of predictions already fulfilled from the Bible are well beyond the realm of human possibility.  It is simply not possible for the Bible to exist without God guiding the writers’ hands.

False teaching about God and the Bible may be more rampant now than ever in the history of earth.  Do not fall victim to these teachings by allowing your own laziness to keep you from study the Bible and the skeptics’ arguments for yourself.  This is too important.  It involves your eternal destiny whether you like it or not.  Give the Bible some honest study on your own, actually read it yourself, and I am confident you will conclude this is no myth.  It is the word of God.
