The Comforter Has Come
The Great Indweller lives within
The heart of all the saved.
To comfort, guard from every sin,
The Father the Spirit gave.
The Glorious Instructor teaches me,
Reminds me whence I came.
His mercy daily reaches me,
And saves me from the same.
And He directs where I should go,
For each step gives me light.
Though MINE would wander to and fro,
HIS steps lead always right!
And as I’ve gone along my path,
If ever wills conflicted.
I needn’t fear the coming wrath,
That’s on this world predicted.
For Christ who came to form His Church,
Will come to claim her soon.
He who did start completes the work.
Ere comes the pending doom!
Till then our Intercessor pleads.
With groans we cannot make.
We know not how to voice the needs
He voices for our sake!
But soon our eyes in person meet,
The One Who prays there for us.
Our ears hear angels’ anthem sweet,
Our voices join the chorus!
