The Power of Faith!

Fear Cowers / Faith Stands!

Remember when Peter was walking on water? He was doing fine, until he took his eyes off Jesus and allowed fear to overtake him. When Peter became fearful, he began to sink. This still holds true today.

Fear will cause us to sink. On the other hand, faith in God, will enable us to swim. What we must understand is that God does not give us the spirit of fear; He gives us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

We often choose fear over faith, time and time again. A wise man fears God, not man. The fear that I am addressing, is about fearing one’s circumstances: life-threatening illness, divorce, financial problems, death. The list is endless. We cannot have, both, fear and faith. We will either have, one, or the other.

We fear the world, instead of having faith in the One who created the world, and everyone and everything, that dwells in it. Man is not greater than His maker. Man will never be ahead of God. There is nothing that man has discovered, that God hadn’t already known. There is nothing hidden from God.

Faith vs Fear

Fear focuses on what we, as human beings, can do. Human logic. Faith, is knowing, what the all-powerful God can do! More than positive thinking and hope, faith, requires action! When we have faith, we are trusting God for the unseen.

What we believe, has an enormous impact on our lives. We will often see, what we believe. For example, if I have cancer, and I believe that I am going to die, there is a very good chance that I will. However, if I have faith in the all-powerful, life-giving God, I have certainly increased my chances of survival. The mind is captain of the body, even if you don’t say it out loud, your mind cannot fool your body. If it’s thinking defeat; that will usually be your result.

God is in Control!

Nothing is over, until God says, that it’s over. He always has the last say! We can find the words, “fear not,” throughout the Bible. There are also many examples of those who triumphed by having faith in God. Job, David, Moses, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. There are certainly many more examples. These are some of my favorites. Pharoah had worldly power, wealth, and armies of men, at his beck and call, however, he was no match for God. No one, or nothing, is.

Goliaths

David and Goliath is also a well-known story. David knew that he could not defeat Goliath, however, he put his trust in the One who could. And God certainly delivered. David’s faith was rewarded. God made him victorious. We will have some Goliaths of our own in life, problems and circumstances, that are huge and serious, in nature. Let us do what David did. Put your trust in God! He is the same God, yesterday, today, and forever more. Hold on to His unchanging hand. If all you have is God, you have more than enough. God’s power is unmatched!

Never Bring Fear to A Cancer Fight!®

On October 22, 2009, I started a cancer support group, on Facebook, titled, “Never Bring Fear to A Cancer Fight!”® To date, over 400 people have joined me in the fight against cancer. The many people that have contacted me, all have what I am writing about now. Fear. We must replace fear, with faith. That is a must, in every aspect of our lives! Faith heals! Fear destroys.

Increase Your Faith

If you don’t have any faith, or, if you need to increase your faith, the Bible tells us how. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes by the word of God, (Romans 10:17.) Faith is like a muscle, when exercised, it grows! Starve fear to death by increasing your faith.

Trust God!

Jeremiah 17:5-8: Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength. Psalms 118:8 tells us that it is better to take refuge in the Lord, than to put our trust in man. 

All things are in God’s hands. There is nothing that He doesn’t know. There is nothing that He cannot do. Trust Him!
