I can not believe that scientists are still trying to prove whether the Shroud of Turin is a fake or not. Just being able to produce a fabric that has a resemblance to the shroud like the one just produced still proves nothing. I think the fact that it took modern scientists around 748 years or longer to make their copy almost proves to me that the Shroud is real.
I can not believe that a scientist wasted so much time and money on something that proves that he still does not know what he is talking about. Just because a bed sheet can be made to resemble the shroud does nothing to prove that the shroud is not real. It would be nearly impossible for someone to prove that the shroud is a fake. All that one can prove is that they can make a copy or at least something that looks similar.
I am not saying that the Shroud of Turin is real, but it seems to me that if it took this long to figure out a possible way it was made. How on earth did people make the fake so long ago? I think people in the dark ages must have been a lot smarter than all the scientists that have been working on this piece of history all these years.
The carbon dating done back in the 1980’s said that the cloth was only, at most 748 years old, but then other scientist say “that the fire that burned the cloth probably put extra carbon on the cloth.” Those scientist then go on to say “that that is why the date of the cloth is not old enough and could possibly swing the date a thousand years or more.” http://www.uthscsa.edu/mission/spring96/shroud.htm
So the scientists have proved nothing except that they do not know.
