Many (most?) Roman Catholics believe things about Jesus, but do not believe in Him alonefor salvation. Rather, they trust in the unbiblical Roman Catholic church. They also trust in their “good” works, water baptism, taking the Lord’s Supper and “Mass”–instead of believing in Jesus alone as Jesus and the Bible tell them to do.
(Good works are things for people to do after they become believers, saved by faith in Jesus.)
Roman Catholicism is a false anti-Christian religion that teaches that man is saved by his own “good works..”
This is why Roman Catholics are not saved, why they are not Christian, and why they are not going to Heaven when they die, even though they believe many good things about Jesus. (The same holds true about Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses. Even Buddhists mention and honor Jesus in their religion, but they do not believe in Him as God and Savior.
Salvation is the possession of those who *have believed in Jesus alone for salvation*.
Unbelieving Roman Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists, Satanists, Agnostics, and Secularists are all going to Hell because they do not have Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God and Heaven.
If these do not believe in Jesus, they will all go to Hell the minute they die.
“He that believeth not (in Jesus) shall be damned.” -The Lord Jesus Christ in the Gospel of John

May this article be read by Roman Catholics and be enlightened. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No religion can save us. It’s only Jesus Christ because he paid for our salvation with His own blood. God bless!
Brother Curtis,
While I believe most of your article, I think you need to be a little cautious about condemning them all to hell…Who is to say that some may actually find Jesus in the Bible in such a way that it causes them to “come out of her my people”…
Curious about going to hell as soon as they die…Would you mind supplying some scriptures please?…In Luke 23, the thief asks Jesus to remember him when He comes in His kingdom…Jesus tells him on that day that He would be with Him in paradise…That was that day we call Friday…Yet, in John 20, we see Jesus telling Mary that He has not yet been to the Father…I believe it is Biblical to say that the Father is in Heaven…
If you say that Jesus took the thief to heaven/paradise on Friday, how could He tell Mary that He had not been to heaven yet, and this was the day we call Sunday?…3 days later?…hmmmmmmmmmmmmm….
Reply please…..
God bless…
Harry
Thank you kindly for your comments, Harry.
I am certainly not condemning all Roman Catholics to Hell. (I have no such power over anyone’s destiny, of course.) Anyone who trusts in Christ alone will be saved.
The serious problem is that the faith of Roman Catholicism promotes trust in one’s own good works, and does not preach sure salvation through faith in Christ alone. So, I am condemning the Roman Catholic beliefs and teachings according to Scripture, and not each and every Catholic who belongs to that church.
The headline was intended to get the attention of those who are being deceived by the Catholic church about the nature of salvation.
On the other subject: when we are absent from the body, we are present with the Lord, as Paul said.
Jesus told the thief on the cross, “Today” you will be with Me in Paradise.
There was a difference between the pre-Christian era “Sheol” (”the place of the dead” It had with Heaven and Hell sections.)–Paradise, and Heaven. The thief was with Jesus in Paradise, not Heaven.
Also, Jesus, freed of His body, is omnipresent, because he is God Himself.
I see so much ignorance in all you’ve said, and I am sorry, but it’s just the way I feel. You haven’t given any proofs therefore this is just opinions, and opinions are immunity to being told you’re wrong.
Hi,
Jesus’ words that you are saved through belief in Him, the only Son of God, are not opinion. Jesus has all knowledge.
Brother Curtis,
Hmmmmmmmmmmm…..Interesting………I thought when Jesus was taken up into heaven, and the angels told the disciples that this same Jesus will come like you have seen him go up, that He had a body that was recognizable by all who were there….I seem to remember reading in the Bible where Jesus appeared to them after He was resurrected, and since they thought he was a “ghost/spirit”, that He asked for food and he ate bread and drank water….
I am unsure about your statement “Also, Jesus, freed of His body, is omnipresent, because he is God Himself.” I believe the Bible supports the fact that He will be like us, like He makes us when He returns, throughout eternity, bearing the marks on His hands, feet, and head, to remind us of the tremendous price that was paid for each one of us…
As far as the “today” in Luke 23:43, I must remind you that the entire new testament was like one big paragraph for many years…When the old and new testament was translated, the separation of chapters and verses and punctuation was added…If you read it like it was written, Jesus is telling this man who has offered his life in submission to Jesus as Messiah, on the day of his death, that He will indeed remember him when He comes in His kingdom…
I ask that you look up paradise in the concordance. You will find it appears in the Bible very few times, and each time it eludes to the presence of the “third heaven” as Paul says, where the Father is…
You seemed to have side-stepped my question of telling the thief on Friday that he would take him to heaven/paradise, as you seem to think, and yet He tells Mary on Sunday that He has no yet ascended to the Father…
As always, much more study is needed in order to correctly see what the Holy Spirit is trying to show us from the Holy Word of God…
Peace to you, my brother….
Harry
* Well, maybe they were so amazed, they thought He was a ghost, like when they saw Him walk on the water of Lake Galilee.
* I believe Jesus has a glorified body and is omnipresent.
* The thief on the cross had nothing to offer Jesus but his evil life. The Savior was on the cross next to him, paying for the sins the thief’s own crucifixion could never pay for.
* Yes, the thief on the cross was with Jesus in Heaven that same day. Jesus became omnipresent after His death.
* Jesus is God, so He can be in infinite places at the same time.
Peace to you, Harry.
In His grace,
Curtis
Wow. I don’t even have words for such ignorance. I guess we won’t be on each others friends lists anytime soon.
Please see my recently published article “Catholic Bashing: A Personal Essay”.
As a Catholic, I find your article offensive and mean-spirited. I believe that if you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you will go to Heaven. But I also believe that you better follow the Ten Commandments, and if you break one of them, you need to ask God’s forgiveness. And you better be sincere.
The problem with your belief that all you have to do is believe in Jesus is that it gives people license to sin all of their lives. Adolf Hitler claimed to believe in Jesus but if he is in Heaven, I will eat my hat.
What a rude awakening it will be for those who say “Lord, Lord” with their lips, but did not do what he asked. Have you never read the parable of the two sons? The one who mouths obedience but does not fulfill his father’s command is degenerate, while the true son does the work of his father, despite saying that he will not. Put the bible in your heart and maybe you will sound less like of a self-righteous bigot.
While I agree that the Roman Catholic church in general has had a lot of problems with teaching correct Biblical doctrine, and that many members of this denomination will go to hell because they have not been taught that they need to be born again, I don’t think that you will be winning any of them over with this article! There are also people sitting in churches where the Bible is clearly taught, who will also go to hell for the same reason!
To Lonewolf: I agree that this article is offensive and mean-spirited, but the doctrine is Biblically sound. Faith does not give a license to sin. It gives us freedom from the slavery of sin. Adolf Hitler might have believed that Jesus existed and that he is the Son of God, but the Bible says that even the demons believe that there is a God, and they shudder! Putting our faith in Jesus is more than an intellectual belief, it changes our hearts.
