The Truth About The Definition of Marriage in The Bible (Hint Hint: There Isn’t One!)

There is no clear cut definition of marriage in the Bible. Here, I analyze the various pitfalls occupying the Christian religion’s stance against gay marriage.

When it comes to society these days, one person is always persecuting someone for some minor offense or other. The big one presently is homosexuality. Why is it that suddenly the country is filled with religious zealots? It’s not like they adhere to every statute written down in the Bible, yet they are quick to point out the violations of others. They burn with hatred for people that aren’t like them. Whatever happened to love thy neighbor? It sickens me to see such hypocrisy among the American people.

The fact of the matter is if you don’t believe in God, you shouldn’t have to follow the rules of the Bible. And if you do believe in God, then who are you to interpret the word of God? It’s laughable to think that mere mortals can think that they know exactly what God is thinking. Is there some phone number where I can contact him or something that I don’t know about? Seriously, when was the last time you spoke with God and he answered back?

What every preacher says these days is “the biblical definition of marriage is one man and one woman”. Where exactly does it say that? I have read the bible my self and have never come across a definition of marriage. Where then, are they getting this ridiculous notion that there is one? I spoke to a preacher the other day regarding this issue and he gave me this when I asked where the bible defines marriage as between one man and one woman:

“Matthew 19:5-7  5 and for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh 6 so they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

Here’s the problem. I analyzed this passage very thoroughly and noticed that not only does it not define what marriage is or how to do it, it never defines marriage as being solely ONE man and ONE woman. It doesn’t define anything at all. Nor does this example state that this is the only way it can be done. In reply the preacher stated that clearly wife meant woman. Here’s the problem with that logic, the bible never defines wife as woman either, wife could mean man or woman. For a guidebook the Bible sure does a crappy job of explaining things.

Here’s another problem with the logic that this quote is the be-all-end-all regarding marriages. The quote is merely an example of a wedding, not the wedding. It never defines what a wedding is. There could be multiple scenarios, one of which includes a woman and a woman or a man and a man.

Then the preacher got angry. “The Bible is not a dictionary” he said. “Some of it has to be interpreted”. Then I started getting angry. “Who’s interpretation?” I said. “Yours? Who are you to interpret the word of God?” At this the preacher threw me out of the church. That was all it took for me. In that moment I lost all respect for Christianity.

Here’s the thing that really makes me angry. I can guarantee that that man did not sacrifice a lamb to God after the birth of his firstborn. Nor does he sacrifice an ox as a sin offering every time he goes to the bathroom (that’s right, the Bible states that it’s a sin to excrete and that you must atone for it). And what about what you can and can’t eat? The Bible clearly says you can’t eat pork, but that’s never anything Christians cared about. If you’re going to throw the book at someone, you better follow every letter in that book exactly so that you’re prepared when they throw it back at you. Otherwise, don’t even bother.

Neurotics and Psychotics love ‘religions” for it gives them a finger to point with for within the human race they are failures in dealing with “reality.” Delusion has no bounds, so it give a foothold to any idiot willing to make up whatever comforts them and anyone else who will cleave to them. That comes from a “professional” who used to treat the mentally ill and yes, I did have many who “fell from grace” for their religion failed them. There is one fact to which the delusional will not accept, and that is the “behaviors” of their almighty GOD. Millions upon millions throughout the span of 3000 years have failed to look at the nature of the Hebrew God, which invalidates any doctrine or words to which is attached to it. That includes Islam, Judaism, and Judeo-Christianity. Doctrines of an “inhumane” entity who failed humanity by proclaiming itself a dictator over it. It is why I am a priest of the Amen faith, of which “Jesus” was a teacher. In ignorance, even humanity failed to see that all he taught had nothing to do with Judaism or it’s god for the “Lord of Creation” is not an understudy of gods who consistently fail him, including mankind. You are right, that nowhere is found many of the words proclaimed by those of the Abraham branches of faiths for afterall, even the Jewish priests to modern day have proclaimed that what is not written, they “make up…….”

The Bible clearly says homosexuality is a sin. It is an act of abomination of their own bodies. Our lives are not our own, but God’s, and those who don’t acknowledge God will lead to their own sin, death and destruction. Sin leads to death, which is not what God wants, that is the reason he gave us The Bible. So that we may know what sin is and turn away from it (Read Romans for more information about sin). Throughout The Bible it says God’s Word not to lie with another man, please read below and I pray that you may know the Truth.

Leviticus 18:22 “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.”

Romans 1:27 “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”

Genesis 19:5 “They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

Leviticus 20:13 “‘If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

1 Corthinians 6:9 “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders”

Jude 1:7 “In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.”

Romans 1:24 “Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.”

Ephesians 4:19 “Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.”

1 Thessalonians 4:4 “..each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable,

The Bible clearly states sexual relations other than in marriage of a man and woman is detestable in the eyes of God. You questioned if the bible define marriage, but clearly says that if a man lies with another man it is act of abomination towards his own body. God loves you and doesn’t want you to do that. God gave us The Bible so that we may know the truth and the truth may set us free. It is out of love to tell not to do that, not out of hatred. Your making God out to be a liar. Whoever thinks gay marriage is fine, is twisting the truth of what God orinially made marriage out to be and is making God’s word to be a liar and deciever. God hates sin. Proverb 16:2″All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD.” God is just, He knows all things and He will judge everyone according to what they have done. The Bible says all have fallen short of the glory of God. All have turned away from Him. Jesus Christ fulfilled all the law and prophets in the Bible. We no longer need NT Jewish Laws, because Christ fulfilled all the requirements on the cross. Hebrew 13:9 “Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them. Colossians 2:16 , 17 “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.”
Galatians 3:22 “Why, then, was the law given? It was given alongside the promise to show people their sins. But the law was designed to last only until the coming of the child who was promised. God gave his law through angels to Moses, who was the mediator between God and the peopleIs the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law..the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ.” Romans 8:3 “For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man”
Christ die on the cross, to take our place to get ride of our sin and rose again to give a us new spirit to live in us, the Holy Spirit. All who believe in Him has recieved eternal life in HIm. God showed is Almighty power and love for us, so that we may live life to the full in Jesus Christ. May God open your spiritual eyes so that you may see and know Him personally. Those who have ear to hear let them hear! -Amen
