The Book of Hebrews written sometime before AD 70, since it makes reference to temple sacrifices, and as we have learned in the Old Testament stories of history; the temple was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70. Thus, taking into account that the temple had been destroyed by the Romans in AD 70 and the reference to temple sacrifices still taking place at the time when the scribe of the Book of Hebrews had recorded what the Holy Spirit had inspired him to write, then knowing this information we know that the Book of Hebrews was written sometime before AD 70.
The Book of Hebrews makes it perfectly clear to anyone reading this book that Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD, who he is both man and GOD in the flesh. Jesus Christ is the only man who has ever lived who is both man and GOD manifested in the flesh.
The following is one of my personal favorite teachings of the Book of Hebrews:
1 “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:”
In the first chapter of the Book of Hebrews, GOD the FATHER teaches us all exactly who his Son Jesus Christ is and as we continue to read and more importantly listen to what GOD is teaching us in the Book of Hebrews, we learn we have a Savior in Jesus Christ and there is no other way to find rest and eternal life other than through faith and a personal relationship in / with the SON of GOD Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
The Book of Hebrews teaches us that the Lord Jesus Christ is so much better than all of the prophets who came before him, and so much more better than Moses and so much better than all of the angels. Jesus Christ came to take away the sins of the world as we were taught by GOD in the Book Galatians and 1 John.
3 “Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
1 John 2:1-3
2 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.”

The Ten Commandments cannot save you, but only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ can you be saved. Observing the commandments of GOD with a willing heart will show the rest of the world who you follow and who you belong to. If anyone should break any of the commandments in a moment of weakness, then we have an advocate in Heaven, but know this, no child of GOD has been given a license to sin or to knowingly break any of GOD’S Commandments. We as children of GOD and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ should want to keep the commandments as best as we can, so our lives can be an example to others to live a life apart from this present evil world. But, in no way does keeping the commandments save anyone – only by believing/trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior can anyone have Salvation and Eternal Life.
In the Book of Matthew, the Lord Jesus Christ makes it easy to understand to help us keep the commandments as we’ve just learned up above by his following answer to a question that was asked to him.
35 “Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Now why would these two commandments that Jesus taught us about help us to keep the Ten Commandments we learn about in Exodus 20, because the ten are summed up in the two great Commandments? If we love GOD we will want to keep his commandments, and if we love one another, then we will want to keep GOD’S commandments. The commandments were given to us because GOD loves us and living life by GOD’S commandments is to live a life worth living.
Just think if everyone in the whole world would just live by the commandments. There would be no more war, because no one would be killing. There would be no more stealing because no one would be envying each other’s goods or wives or husbands. There would be no more adultery, because no one would want to sleep with someone else’s wife or husband. There would be no lying, because no one wouldl be baring false witness against their neighbor.
Of course, only one man in all of history has lived a perfect life in keeping all of GOD’S Laws and his name is Jesus Christ. This is why, we need a savior in the Lord Jesus Christ, because he is the only one who paid the price for our sins on the Cross with the shedding of his Precious Blood, was buried and rose to life again thus purchasing our pardon by laying down his life for us. Jesus Blood is Precious, because he himself never sinned and kept all of the commandments perfectly all his life walking before FATHER GOD. Only the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ would GOD the FATHER accept as payment in full for the pardons of the many that will come to saving knowledge and relationship with GOD through his only begotten Son Jesus Christ.
You can be one of the many, right now if you make the choice to believe (have faith/trust) in the only GOD that has the power to save you by repenting (turning away from knowingly sinning) your sins, and asking Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and to be your Lord and Savior right here, right now – today. Just believe that Jesus Christ came into this world and died on the Cross, was buried and rose to life again, so GOD could forgive you for your sins and give you the free gift of pardon from spending eternity in Hell, and to give you Salvation and Eternal Life in the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
