Today, I had a long discussion with a woman. The discussion almost had me in a rage for this lady is very dear to my heart. I could not even begin to fathom how such a person as she could be treated in such a manner. It pained me to see her suffering at the hands of cruel and very disrespectful people (this is putting it VERY mildly). I will not mention her real name in my writing for the sake of her privacy. Instead, I will refer to her as Audrey.
The company decided to relocate the office. Each office worker received a brand new desk, but Audrey did not get a new desk. She tries her best to ignore all of this and just do her job. The bible states to “turn the other cheek”, so this is what she has tried to do. Many nights have been spent pouring her heart out to Jesus in prayers, but with no response. With a faithful heart she has kept praying and hoping, but today it just seemed like too much for a person to take. Audrey walked into the office this morning to find brand new computers sitting on everyone’s desk, but she did not have one.
Many of us find ourselves in similar situations on a day to day basis. As Christians, we need to come together and fight for each other. We need to remember Hebrews 13:3 “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”. Personally, if I were in that office with Audrey, I would ask the office manager why I had received a new desk, but Audrey had not. Hebrews 13:3 speaks of “prison”. When a person is suffering abuse at the hands of one or more persons, the abuse becomes their prison. If we unite in this manner as Christians by sticking up for those who are persecuted and following the words of Luke 6:28 “bless whose who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” then we will be just that much closer to winning the battle.
God has said, “when two or more are gathered together in my name, I am in the mist”. Shouldn’t we listen to what he has said? A single flame can burn brighter than many flames put together. If we can help just one person, then that will lead to many others being helped. The person who received the help will remember how kind someone-else was to them, and they will be willing to help another. It becomes a ripple effect. If we can’t do this then we do not deserve to call ourselves Christian.

I hear a lot of compassion in your heart and wisdom in your words.
