The Shroud of Turin is a linen cloth, on which is printed with blood the image of a man. Because of his physical conditions and the injuries that appear in the image, that man is thought to be Jesus, into the cloth which he was put when he died.
The origin of the cloth is unknown: While lots of people say that it is from the first century, another part insists that it was created in the middle age in order to cheat catholic people.
This mystery is known by millions of people because the Invisible Church says that it is the body of Jesus. Nowadays it is kept in Turin, Italy. Because of that piece of cloth, thousands of people visit this church every year, and thousands of scientists, photographers, historians and theologists hace studied this piece of cloth.
In order to know if it is real or false, lots of investigations were made. For example, it was tested with Carbon-14, it has been photographed, and also it was made a Blood analysis on it, which identified that its blood type is AB. The curious point is that the type AB is known to be a result of the intermingling between asiatic and european people, which happened after the year 700.
However, there are hypothesis that suggest it is not a duplicate. Some examples of that are the piercings (in the same place as Jesus’ ones), the small punctures around the forehead and scal, and also swelling of the face from severe beatings.
That is the negative of a photograph, which shows a possitive image. It means that the cloth is bearing a negative image.
