If you are of Christian faith, you are aware Christianity is based on the life and prophecies of Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus was a prophet, a seer, a healer, and able to communicate directly with God. Jesus was a miracle worker and deemed to be the saviour of mankind.
Throughout human history there has been many prophets, seers, healers, and miracle workers, but the most famous and accepted of all was Jesus of Nazareth. No one questions his divine abilities because it was known they were gifts from God.
During the so called lost years of Jesus, between the age of 14 years to 30 years old, there is very little information in the bible what he did during these years. Thankfully, the bible is not the only source of information on the life of Jesus Christ and we are able to track his apparent lost years through other documentation that is readily available if you dare to look for it.
Jesus went out into the world beyond Israel, on a personal quest for knowledge and enlightenment. He visited all the surrounding countries seeking wisdom and everywhere he went miracles and healings occurred with the credit always being given to Jesus and rightfully so.
For a moment, let’s look at the divine abilities Jesus possessed during his life.
- Jesus had the ability to have direct communication with Father God. The bible presents this fact when Jesus went to the garden of Gethsemane to speak directly to God. He had asked God to lift the burden of his Passion and God obviously answered Jesus, for he then said, “Thy will be done”. In modern terms today, this ability is called “clairaudience”.
- Jesus prophesied the word of God, predicting the future of man, foreseeing future events, and enlightening others on the truth of God. Prophecy is another term for what we call “clairvoyance” today.
- Jesus was a healer. He healed many people in his life journeys, from sickness, injury and even death. This is called the “laying on of hands” and has always been a divine gift. Even to this day, the laying on of hands is still practiced and used in many cultures and religions.
- Jesus was also credited for things like; walking on water, calming the storm, turning water into wine, filling the fishermen’s nets with fish, making just a few fish and loaves able to feed a multitude of people, and even raising the dead back to life.
There is definitely some physical psychic abilities going on here if he was able to alter and manipulate the physical and molecular structure of matter.
Throughout history and to this day, there have always been psychically gifted people on earth. All blessed with their own capabilities, but none with all the gifts that Jesus portrayed for he was the most gifted and powerful of all psychics to be born of earth.
However, history shows us that the talents of the gifted have been misused, misinterpreted, and even abused. In ancient times psychics, (prophets, healers, seers) were sought out for their talents and gifts of the divine. Rulers especially depended on their abilities and insights and often kept such people at their immediate disposal. They were considered “chosen” and held in high esteem and revered for their divine knowledge or powers.
In eastern cultures, the prophets, psychics, healers, are readily accepted and always have been. It is in the western culture that people have a problem understanding what they do not know about. Anything that is abnormal to the general public as been labeled the work of the devil and evil simply because of a lack of knowledge and fear of the unknown.
The only time in history where psychics have been persecuted for their gifts, was when psychics were falsely called witches, and were burned at the stake for their God given gifts rather than being revered for their incredible insight and powers.
I have never understood why the Christian faith refuses to accept psychic ability as divine when the entire premise of the religion is based upon the life, teachings and miracles of a gifted seer, a prophet of God, Jesus Christ. Somewhere along the timeline of history Christians decided that these people born with the uncommon gifts and special abilities God blessed them with, were instead, possessed by the demons and evil. The divine then became the cursed. Suddenly God’s gifts became ungodly and demonic by nature, rather than divine. How did this happen?
Going by that Christian theory, should that not mean that Jesus was possessed by the devil as well? After all, he openly displayed and practiced the same gifts as all the other psychics. How can Christians justify honoring Jesus, yet condemning all the rest?
There were prophets and seers long before the life of Christ, and many since then. The Old Testament, the Hebrew bible, is full of them. Moses being the most famous there. And there are other gifted prophets such as Buddha and Mohammed who were revered and honored in the religions they founded with their infused knowledge and insight, just like Jesus possessed. The difference between now and then is that we now call prphets psychics and have lost our faith in their God given abilities.
To admit and accept that Jesus had all the gifts and abilities the bible lays out, then deny psychic ability as anything less than a divine gift from God could be called hypocrisy. Not the other way around as the church tends to put forth.
Of course there are schemers and scammers in every area of life and that includes psychics. Just as you research for a good building contractor, you should research for reputable psychics. A truly blessed psychic will only work through God to share their knowledge. A schemer works only for cash with little or no regard for God.
Of course, there is always the churches point of view conceived through the power and control they wish to maintain. As long as the general populace is kept in ignorance of the truth, they will have to depend entirely on the church for their salvation. They keep the fear in their teachings to keep the faithful under spiritual control. If the people learned of the truth, they could leave the religion and the church would risk losing funding, members, power, and control.
Surprisingly, very few people question the church on their theories or are even aware of the history of Christianity from it’s conception. The Christian church fought long and hard for the power and status it has achieved. By any means possible, they threatened, coerced, and even killed those who did not subscribe to their beliefs. If you study early Christianity at all, then you would be aware that the Christians have the longest, most brutal and bloodiest history of all time. Literally executing thousands of men, women, and children who refused to convert to Christianity, using fear and violence as their main and most brutal weapon.
Jesus would never have approved this method of forcing people to be introduced to the word of his all loving God. Nor would he have approved of having fear as the main motivator. These means and messages were never the way of Jesus and I would think that if Jesus was here on earth today, he would not call himself a Christian based on their methodology.
Was Jesus Christ a divine messenger on behalf of God? Absolutely. Was Jesus Christ gifted with psychic abilities from God? Absolutely. These gifts were necessary to the success of his mission. He had to be able to communicate directly with God and perform miracles to show the love and compassion of God for His children on earth. He would not have been able to convince others of his truth if he was unable to perform these tasks. Think about it. Think about what a remarkable human being Jesus was and all he endured to get his message out. The divinity of Jesus Christ never ceases to amaze me. I truly love this man for all that he was.
