What If John 3:16 Were Not True?

The truth about John 3:16.

What If John 3:16 Were Not True?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”

What if God Had not loved THE WORLD?

For God so loved the world.

Without his love there would be no hope at all. Our earth will be a dark planet hurtling thorough space without hope. Nothing to live for and no purpose for existence. Every death would be the end of personal hope, and every grave a place of despair. A world where prayers were but useless cries to the skies.

But God does love the world
Everything speaks of his love. Every sunrise, every blade of grass. Every fountain of water, every birth, the face of every child. The greatest demonstration of his love is the cross.

What if God had NOT GIVEN his son?
“that he gave is only begotten son”

God’s love would be frustrated without the cross. A real love demands loving. A man marries then works, provides, cares and a woman marries and gives of herself for her family. God has given His child  and apart from this there would be no salvation.

What if God’s offer to salvation were not to the “whosoever”?
The wonderful word  that is general yet particular. It embraces all and yet touches each one. It reaches out to you. Suppose God had offered salvation only to the rich? Suppose God had only offered salvation to the healthy or educated, but God calls all people, individually to trust him.

What if God’s offer were not based on faith alone”
Believeth

Picture men working, trying, dying. Picture men earning, failing. Consider the dying thief.. And the offer to dying men.

But John 3:16 is true

You can be saved by faith in Christ
What a message to take to the world.

a very great article for eveyone to ponder upon for if John 3:16 were not true we will all surely receive God’s wrath and there would be no more hope for us then. But praise God, John 3:16 is definitely TRUE! Hope those who can read this will be touched by His love.God bless you kabayan.

I dont think any of the bible is true to be honest with you… Its the biggest book of lies ever written its just full of stories that make no sense….

for god (a supposed supreme being seemingly without the power to prevent suffering) so loved (a chemical reaction in the brain) the world (a big ball of rock hurtling through space until the sun dies out) that he gave (can you give a son away or as a sacrifice and be called loving?) his (apparently a male) only son (an actual human offspring) that those who believe (takes some doing that – big faith job) will never die (as far i know everyone still expires) but have everlasting life (but there is no evidence for this). amen. must be true then.

I am continually amazed by atheists that would take the time and trouble to read something of this nature; let alone comment on a subject they have no interest in. Is it possible to be offended by something that is myth and superstition?

Without faith, the world is a very dark place. It holds no rights and no wrongs, and is without purpose. What leap of delusion is required for purpose in a Godless reality?

    Wonderful questions from you Papaleng.
I believe only God who can think and offer possibility like John 3:16. It is hard for man to think and execute this thought. If it is from God, it is true. The problem atheist doesn’t believe if God exist.

Another inspiring message of hope and love. Great job Papaleng.

As far as teachersmith’s objection (post #7) is concerned, where has anyone from the atheist camp even offered a sufficient proof to demonstrate that it is impossible for God to exist? Until they do, it is impossible for them to claim access to a rationally thought out position on the question of God’s existance.

Without a trace of reason flowing through their vains (intentional misspelling), atheists chose to believe in nothing where as theists believe in God and the power of Love to solve the worlds problems (which ultimately arise from the sin of pride–thinking one knows something when in fact they have decieved themselves)

If you took an atheist’s lack of belief to its logical conclusion, life would be viewed as a mistake and therefore unworth living. This is why one must never lose hope in the power of God’s love, as is made quite clear in Papaleng’s excellent piece of writing.

Thanks for everyones’ comments. We may differ in beliefs and that is acceptable but in the end we are accountable for our deed be it good or bad and to whom, that we will know when we cross the bridge. Here is my understanding, In heaven, we will find Catholics, Baptist, born again Christians and other people that have different beliefs, and so in Hell. It is a matter of relationship . Who is Jesus to You?

God is really good all the time, and thanks God for sending you to triond to spread the good news. I’ve learned something from this piece.
He is my best friend: whom I can talk to all the time, He protects me all the time, He gave all I deserved in life. I dont blame Him for what I have done bad, instead I praised Him for giving me those trials, those heart aches, those pains because through those experiences HE MADE ME STRONGER in faith!!!!
