In Heaven
I believe that the flesh goes to the grave and rot and not our spirit. Genesis 3:19. “….and unto dust shalt thou return.” I believe God was talking about our flesh because of what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” I believe here that Paul was talking about the spirit. If we are absent from the body and present with the Lord, where are we? Where is the Lord? We must be in heaven.
Let’s look at another verse. Jesus told the thief, “Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43).” Christ here is letting us know that he was going to heaven. Jesus himself died on the cross and went. Jesus is letting us know that when Christians die, they shall go to be with him in heaven, and the unsaved have a chance to go to heaven too.
In Matthew 27:52 -53, When Jesus died, saints that slept arose. (52) And the graves were opened and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, (53) And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
In Philippians 1:23, Paul said, “For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better…”
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. (14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep (died) in Jesus will God bring with him. (15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.(16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (18) Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” I believe that the people that died in Christ are with Christ and will return with him. Christians will get a new body when he returns. Our bodies will be like Christ’s. When Christ returns we will be glorified and our bodies will be physical. Christ’s body was physical when he arose because his disciples ate with him (Acts 10:41).
I believe that the spirits of the righteous men are already in heaven. Hebrews 12:22-23 But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, (23) To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and the spirits of just men made perfect…”
In Revelation 6:9, There are souls in heaven. “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.”
In Hell
In Luke 16:19-31 Jesus told a parable about a rich man and a poor man name Lazarus. The rich man went to hell. Jesus even gave a name of a person in this parable which is Lazarus. To me this is more than just a parable. It actually happened. Lazarus went to heaven (verse 22). The rich man went to hell (verse 23) and was tormented in the flame (verse 24).
When Jesus comes, hell is going to be cast into the lake of fire in Revelation 20:14-15. There is no other place that unsaved people can go to after hell. The lake of fire is the last place for them to go when Jesus comes back. Sounds like there are people already in hell to me.
If your belief is different, that is alright with me, but this is what the scriptures are saying to me.
Believing something is one thing; where is the evidence?
Christians “go” the same place as Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Roman pantheists, Pastafarians, Rastafarians, and atheists: back to nature. Period. No after life. No reincarnation. Once you’re dead, you’re done.
The ONLY way humans continue existence after they are dead is in the memories of those they’ve loved and influenced in life.

Once again you are out there swinging and hitting it square. I am sorry for our friend who thinks Muslims and Christians all go to the same place. He hasn’t read where, the only way to the Father and heaven is through Jesus (John 15). He doesn’t realize that the big difference in Christianity and any other religion, if that Jesus rose from the dead, and conquered eternal death for all who believe on Him.

You must be confused. I *do* think everyone goes to the same place, regardless of religion, and all available evidence confirms it.
For most, that “place” is a hole in the ground. The end.

Thanks Sian. If you believe in the Bible, you believe what God said. That’s all that matters. Religions were created really by man and what they believe. Why do we have so many? There’s only one true God. All I need is what God said and to follow what he said to make it to heaven. That way I won’t be deceived or misled and get confused from so many different beliefs. There are a lot of confused folks today and some are very lost. There’s no point in debating with others when they strongly believe in what they believe, and I strongly believe in what I believe. There are some people fighting over religion and in war right now. That’s probably why we have so many different religions. That’s the devil’s way of keeping everybody apart. There is confusion. That’s not good. I don’t argue.
Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me….(St.John 10:27).

This is a very beautiful article that gives me much food for thought. I have always believed that people can make their lives heaven or hell depending on what they think and how much they love themselves. That part of God’s lesson is to teach us how to love ourselves more so that we can live in heaven always.

The real truth is this: NOBODY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENS, IF ANYTHING, AFTER WE DIE.
We only know what we read in the Bible. I talk about what I believe according to the Scriptures. I don’t know everything. I still have questions. But God will help us understand it better because we try and desire to learn about him and what he said.
You are right Sheralyn. I don’t really know because I have never been dead. I only know what the scripture said. And you know the scriptures even better when you have lived it.

The bible was made by a human, even if it was influenciated by god and bla bla bla ( since the self Bible Perspective), It’s Just a book, It’s fiction, that’s why it’s in the fiction sector of the bibliary.
Think in it, bible exagerates all the facts, science have discovered proof of things like Noe’s boat( Sorry I don’t know how to say “arca” in english )
And things like that, but things like a rain of 40 days its just stupid.

You go to a place uniquely yours. It is the mindset when you die that matters. Die happy stay content. Die tormented move on tormented. But remember, the spirit takes 8 days to leave the body unless you torch it. If I can find someone to clone me before the 7th or 8th day, I can spirit jump back in. What a technological monster I would be.

Great post. I do not judge anyone welllll I should say I TRY not to judge anyone it’s almost human nature we do it without thinking. I am saved and would give my life up for Jesus Christ and not even blink.As somebody above stated “free-will” we are all allowed to think what we want. One thing that cracks me up and again NOT JUDGING anyone. Okay were born (you think that is by accident?) that you are here on this EARTH.None of us asked to be born or be here therefore something (GOD) of a higher power has already pre-destioned everything but gives us the choice. Others think that *BOOM and everything just is” *or we evolved from apes lol….cracks me up * or better yet we came from sludge in the ocean……but to eaches own. The word of God is real, his promises are real, He is real. Here is scripture that I carry in my heart everywhere I go and it gets me through my days journey. Pslams 27: 1- 3 ” The Lord is the light of my salvation-whom shall I fear The Lord is the stronghold of my of my life- of whom shall I be afraid? I know that God is real and that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior!!!
I will say is heaven and hell are combined together in a super matrix beyond this dimension. The enlightened would tell you so, we all go to the same place when we die. It’s not anything you can just put a name to. Enlightenment is about realizing we are all one, and there’s a higher consciousness that is all of us and more. That’s it and its crazy its everything. Idc if you believe me because I know this to be true, god is love and god is everything. God is a dimension. We all ascend from the darkness. Time is an illusion with eternity held in one moment. It is ego that tells us we don’t know much, the truth is there always.
No religion is right. It fails because people shun others beliefs/religions. It tries to explain the unexplainable and put into words that which aren’t agreeable by all. There might be a time when you’re confused about which faith you’ve chosen… Maybe not. In the end were all wrong and right. Expand consciousness past ego and find what you’re looking for, whatever that may be. Live in love. Live in light. I’ve been to hell and its right here right now. But that’s a whooole nother story which I won’t get into. It’s chaos and insanity. Ascend From Darkness. God told me, I AM YOU Anywho, That’s one piece of the collective belief.
