Human beings are wonderful creator’s .Every day of our life we are either intentionally or unconsciously bringing form into our worlds. I say worlds because we all live in our very own ecosystem which we link to those who we choose to interact with. Sometimes these relationships are harmonious to us and other times toxic yet energetically we create and attract them to us.
Everything is made of energy, one of the few things which can never be destroyed .It can be manipulated into all sorts of forms to meet all our human requirements and the end result of our creative intention is what we live with. Sometimes life enriching, other times destructive to all who link to it.
So when we look out into the world and see poverty ,war, ecological disasters our thoughts turn to why. Why would the creator of this world also be its destroyer?
Why does god let innocent children be butchered in ethnic cleansing or natural disasters?
In Christianity, God is understood to be the eternal being that created and preserves the universe. One who is, who speaks, who sees, hears, acts, and loves. God is understood to have a will and personality and is within all things. Transcendent (meaning that he is outside space and time, and therefore eternal and unable to be changed).
In Islam, Allah is the only real Supreme Being, all-powerful and all knowing Creator, Sustainer, and Judge of the universe. Islam puts a heavy emphasis on the conceptualization of God as strictly singular and unique yet personal and closely aligned to all.
Buddhism generally lacks an Absolute god. The Buddhist approach is clinical and systematic. Buddha prescribed a method to dispel suffering. He taught that through insight into the nature of existence and the wisdom of selflessness one can dispel ignorance and thereby suffering. Hence Buddhism does not hinge upon the concept of a Creator God but upon personal practice .This more then the Christian or Islamic models of a creator god works better with the concept that we create our own world. So the question is did god create us or did we create God.
Every civilization since man began to walk on two feet has worshipped, feared or sacrificed too, some form of omnipresent being. Each symbolised and created by those with the voice to get everyone’s attention. The forms and governing principles of how to appease the god of your choice endless.
Science tells us that we are energy, atoms, elements, binding together to create form which hosts life, the very same energy which everything in the known universe is created of. Christianity states that we are made in gods image which can be considered to mean that we are equivalent to that which created all and as we have already spoken off we as individuals and society are endless creators , so in our naming and categorisation of our gods are we not gods ourself, creators of creators.
So the blame for what taints the world we live in lies solely at our own feet and the remedy also lies not outside of but within our creative being. Its time for religions to stop redirecting our creative energy without, but help unite us to create a better world from within each of our creative spheres.
