Why Adam and Eve Sinned?

Almost everybody knows that Adam and Eve sinned but how many of us really understand sin and how does it affect us? Have we really given thought about our salvation? I hope this piece will enlighten everybody who comes across my contribution on Triond.

God Created Man in His Own Image

In Genesis, God created man in his own image. By his own image means that He gave man the  “power of choice” which means that God gave Adam the freedom to exercise his free will. He did not put man directly under His will. He did not made man just like a robot which He can manipulate by implanting him some kind of microchip and use him anytime by just clicking a remote control. Moreover, He made Adam and Eve the inheritors of the earth or in other words the king and queen over all His creation.

God Created Man for a Purpose

The scriptures say that “God is a Spirit and everyone that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”. As a spirit, the Father can not live in trees or in animals or in any other form of living things. He can only live in man that is why He created us not by His powerful words but He created us by His own hands. He wants to put His spirit within us and made us ruler of His creation. Lucifer know this and became envious with man that is why he devise a plan to make man separate from the Father.

Adam and Eve Sinned

We know that the Father put Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden to live there but we also know that He gave them a command. He said that they can eat any fruit thereof except the fruit of the tree at the center of the garden. At this point, let me point out that the word of God is like a seed that grows in us as long as we obey them. Also, as long as we obey them we will not fall into sin and Lucifer, the devil, knows this that is why he tempted Eve into eating the fruit of the tree. The word of God is the Good Seed because it gives us life but the word of Lucifer is a bad seed because it caused us to fall into damnation. This was what actually happened to Adam and Eve. They gave in to the word of the Devil through the serpent thereby disobeying the word of the Father Almighty. When this happened, Adam and Eve died in the sight of the Father spiritually. Even if they are alive physically their spirit are dead in the eyes of the Father. They now possess a disobedient spirit by obeying the words of Lucifer instead of an obedient spirit which the Father wanted to put in them. By choosing to obey the word of the serpent, the spirit of sin or the serpent seed, which is the disobedient spirit, disguised as our own will is now embedded within man forever. This made him separate from God constantly and this spirit should be remove within man if he wants to be saved.

How Can Man be Saved?

The issue of salvation is a spiritual thing and this can only be done spiritually. How? The answer is through repentance. When Jesus Christ came, he told the Jews to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand. The Jews did not understand Him because their eyes are not open spiritually. They thought that when the Messiah comes, He will free them from their physical bondage and slavery from other nations. They did not understand that the greatest bondage is the bondage of sin which is a spiritual thing and this is what the Father wanted to take away from them. They did not understand this so they persecuted Him and finally nailed Him into the cross of Calvary.

Today, the same message of repentance brought by the Father Jesus Christ 2000 years ago is being trumpeted by one man who is no other than Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name. He preaches that in order for man to be really saved, we all should repent and surrender the serpent seed or our own will to the will of the Father. Once we’ve done this, we will be given a new spirit, a good spirit that is obedient to the will of the Father no matter what. A spirit that is like the spirit of the Father which is tried, tested, and true. It is only then that we can be truly saved being called the sons and daughters of the Father as stated in Revelation 21:7.

For more understanding of the origin of sin, the serpent seed, the message of repentance, and the life of the Appointed Son of God, Pastor Apollo C.
