Why God Is Still Good
There is much controversy about whether or not there exists a supreme being. You may ask yourself, Is there truly an infinite being that created the world? Could He really care about little ol’ me? Why would He even bother?
The fact is there is an omniscient, omnipresent being who loves each and every person everywhere. Omniscient simply means “All seeing, All knowing” and omnipresent is just a hundred dollar word meaning “Everywhere at once.” You probably wonder how that could be, because nobody can do that.
No, but God is so much higher than we are. It is true that we were created in His image, but no man can be like God, no matter how wise the world tells him he is. Any person is only as great as God allows him to be.
However, believers can have the mind of Christ, thus giving insight into God’s plans, thoughts, and actions, with help from the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is that piece of God that lives in each one of us. You may not believe that statement, but it is true regardless.
If you seek God, you will find Him. If you talk to God, He will answer. It might not be an expected or even desired answer, but you will be answered nonetheless.
And you don’t need to be wearing special clothes to talk with God. You don’t have to be in a church, you don’t have to earn a certain amount of money, and you don’t need anyone’s permission either. Anyone can talk to God anytime, anywhere.
Think of God as three persons in one. The Godhead or Trinity, is what we call it. There is God the Father who is the Creator, God the Son who is the Savior, and God the Holy Spirit who is the Sustainer.
All three love every single person, no matter how bad you think you are, how undeserving you consider yourself to be, or even how much better you think you are than everybody else. We are all equals in God’s eyes, so you should have self-esteem no matter your station in life. Everything you have is from God, and every thought you have is known by Him too.
If you spend time talking to God you will reap great benefits. And that’s not from sugar-coating your words, either. You can tell God anything-the things that make you happy, as well as your hurts, fears, worries, and disappointments. He wants to know how you feel about anything and everything. Just talk with God.
Some denominations may view that differently, but I am a Southern Baptist, and that’s what we believe. Also, I do not claim to be an authority on the subject; I am, how-ever, a Christian man who knows that being in the presence of God brings you peace and happiness. What could be better than that?
