Humans are vile, disgusting, petty creatures. If one of us appears to be good, kind and noble it is just in relation to the rest of us. Yeats wrote in The Second Coming, ” The best lack all conviction, while the worst are filled with passionate intensity.” When set against the standard of perfection, the very best come woefully short. If you have convictions, have ideals, have a desire to try to soar. there are those who lie in wait looking for some flaw, some imperfection, some mistake or error so they can pull you down like crustaceans in a cage.
Mankind rapes, abuses, tortures for pleasure, murders, engages in genocide, mutilates, starves, robs, extorts, blackmails, does things to the children, elderly, and other helpless people. Things too vile to name much less list. At our worst we are worthy of death. At our best we fail of our dreams and aspirations. Mark Twain said that if you care for a stray dog it will not bite you, and that this is the difference between dogs and people.
So why would a loving, omniscient, omnipotent God create such a race? He had to know what would happen when He did. He has to have the power, knowledge and means not to create a race like us. We cannot diminish Him, we cannot increase Him. We cannot offer anything to Him from our own strengths or virtues. Looking at a section of the Sermon on the Mount, a hint of an answer can be found.
Luke 6:27-36* “But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them that despite-fully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other, and hem that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.”
This creation including us is a demonstration of His love. He loves us enough to sacrifice His only begotten Son. His Son loves us enough to lay down His life for us, the Holy Ghost loves us enough to sustain the Son through His ordeal enabling Him to carry out the Father’s will. He loves us even though we curse Him, spat on Him, whipped Him, murdered Him. His sacrifice enabled us to have access to the Father. His sacrifice healed us. His sacrifice gives those who chose it, an eternity with God.
Knowing what we would become. Knowing that we would fall. Knowing that without His sacrifice, we could never have fellowship with Him. Knowing that most of us would reject Him. He created us anyway. We are a demonstration of His eternal love.

I have not heard this quote. It is very true!!!!!!!!! Another wonderful article.
Given the way the human race acts its a miracle it isn’t already extinct. Guess God believes there’s still hope for us.
