What have you done to get into Heaven? The Bible speaks of our “works” in many places. Have you done the right works to make the cut, so to speak? How can you know?
The Bible does speak of the works we should do. And there are many sects and denominations that rely heavily on these works to make it into Heaven. And when asked if they have done enough to make it, they will inevitably answer “I hope so” or something similar. I can answer that question for you right here, right now: You can not get into Heaven by your works, deeds or any thing you do. Simply put, you can’t work your way into Heaven.

The only work that was needed or acceptable was that of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary. Anything and everything else falls short by God’s righteous standard. Jesus was the one and only perfect sacrifice for all people and all time. Only your by placing your total trust in Him as your Savior can you be justified before God.
What about the works, you say? They are mentioned in Scripture so they must be required. Yes, they are mentioned in Scripture but they are not said in anyplace to be the way to be saved from God’s righteous judgment or wrath. Our works come from a desire to serve God and they are to glorify Him. They have nothing to do with us, personally. If they are coming from self or flesh then they are of pride. and if they come from fleshly pride then they are not for the glory of God but glory of self. Pride is a sin and a stumbling block. So if they come from selfish pride from who are those works really coming from? Not God but Satan.

Straight to the point and very well written, just what I like to read. A great communication of the gospel.
Thank you, Katie. I do not care for the modern “fluff” evangelistic messages. I think the Gospel should be presented as it is, as Jesus did, straight forward, clear and leaving nothing out. By presenting only God’s loving attribute we are doing a great disservice I feel.
Very true words. And the “truth will make you free”.
