“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own“.
Mathew 6.34
“Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” He (Jesus) questioned.
The future is not ours. Furthermore it unnecessarily disturbs and prevent us from tackling present problems efficiently which leads to more frustration and very often chaos.
This portion of scripture is a typical advice to men concerning worrying about the future.
Knowing men’s troubled heart regarding matters of life Jesus teaches that it is useless to worry for tomorrow which has not yet come and to take care of today as it “has enough trouble of its own”. Everyday is a new day full of good and bad surprises, obstacles, happiness as well as troubles, hurts, challenges and unexpected events which come our way and which have to be dealt with. Adding an already troubled mind with things concerning the future puts more stress and rob the joy of the present day. By worrying about tomorrow nobody will be able to prevent a particular problem to happen or modify it whatsoever to avoid pain.
