How to Get Married in Skyrim

A simple guide on getting married in Skyrim.

1. You will need to obtain and wear the Amulet of Mara. This can be done by going to Riften and visiting the temple of Mara (the God of love in Skyrim). Talk to the priests inside the temple, and one of them will give you several quests in which you will need to venture across the land of Skyrim to complete. These are often very simple quests, and will not require fighting. 

2. Complete all the quests, and she will reward you with the Amulet of Mara. 

3. Wear the amulet of Mara, then talk to the character you would like to marry. These characters available to marry are usually intertwined with the Dragonborn’s story. (E.g Aela the Huntress).

4. Attend the wedding ceremony in Riften at the Temple of Mara. 

5. Enjoy married life.
