Krishna is a form of Lord Vishnu and he is widely worshiped by Hindus. Krishna is known for his naughty behavior. His birth is said to be very dramatic. He was born in Dwapara Yuga, which is the second yuga after Treta yuga.

Kans is a demon king and he is very cruel person. He gets his sister, Devaki married to Vasudeva. But a divine voice warns him after their marriage that their eighth kid is going to kill him. He orders them to stay in prison and he kills their kids after they are born. He doesn’t want to take any chance and so kills every kid from first to seventh. When the time comes, Lord Vishnu gets into her womb and she fears that her brother is going to kill her eighth kid too. She doesn’t know that she is going to give birth to Lord Vishnu’s avatara.

When she delivers the baby, upon divine magic everyone outside the prison and everyone in the palace of Kans fall into deep sleep. Without knowing, under divine power, Vasudeva takes the kid and goes out(the chains and locks used to tie them and the prison open up by divine power). He takes the kid and goes out of the palace and crosses the river Yamuna. He keeps the kid in a basket and carries him over his head. While crossing the river, an unexpected heavy rain comes and Adisheshu, the snake on which Lord Vishu lies in Vaikunta, comes to protect the kid from rain water and forms as an umbrella on his head. Due to the rain, the water level increases in the river and reaches the level of Vasudeva’s nose. Then the kid’s feet touch the river water and the Yamuna river makes way for Vsudeva to walk in the river by splitting in two parts.

He crosses the river and reaches Repalli where he goes to Nanda’s house and shifts the kid with a kid at his house. He takes along with him the girl in their house. He reaches the prison and places the kid beside Devaki and falls asleep, without having the knowledge of what he has done just now. When everyone regains their consciousness, Kans comes to kill the baby. But the kid flies in the air and takes the form of a goddess. She tells him that the kid who is going to kill him has taken birth and is in some other place.

In Repalle, Nanda and Yashoda take care of the kid and names him Krishna. He is a very mischievous kid and they love the kid very much. He has an elder brother, Balarama. When Krishna knows about his true parents and about Kans, he goes and kills Kans and meets his parents. From then on he resides in Dwaraka and helps his cousins Pandavas in every step.

He helps Pandavas from the evil plans of Kauravas and when the time comes for a war between Pandavas and Kauravas, he educates Arjuna about the laws of war and gives the Pandavas motivation needed for fighting and following his words, they win the battle and ultimately their territory.
