Published by I’ve been absolutely disgusted by what the general believes a hijab to be. I see countless of “Muslim” girls who wear a headscarf and think that’s it, they’re wearing a hijab. Stupidity couldn’t rank any higher. How does covering dead hair cells go hand-in-hand with modesty? It certainly doesn”t. So what does, oh great Zena?
The basics of the hijab are as follows
- The hair is entirely covered.
- The ears and neck are to be covered. The area between the neck and chin should also be covered (some religious leaders believe this, whereas other do not; but I personally cover this area since it’s not part of the face).
- Your hands and feet can be visible, up to the beginning of your wrists and ankles. Anything above the wrists or ankles is to be covered, along with the wrists and ankles.
- Your clothing is to be loose, and should not show your precise figure. No one should be able to see your butt’s figure, your legs’ figure, your thighs’ figure, your breasts’ figure, etc. Because this is so, it is recommended that a woman should wear loose, wide trousers or flare jeans, along with a loose shirt that comes down to the knees or below the knees. I know there’s some protest to this going on in your head, but be honest with yourself and hear me out. Some women wear shirts up to half of their thighs and think this is adequate . . . but it’s not. When you bend down, walk, run, or even cross an area with wind, your shirt will rise up and/or regardless of how wide your pants are, your thigh shapes will show.
- Your are not to wear any makeup that enhances your features; no eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, lip gloss, blush, etc. These all beautify your face, taking away the purpose of the hijab which is there to display your NATURAL beauty, not some superficial drawn on crud. There are exceptions such as concealer (to cover up your nasty pimples) and chap stick, to revive your damages lips.
- High heels are not encouraged given the fact that they draw extra attention, however if you have heels that don’t make prominent tapping noises, they are permissible.
The hijab also includes a woman’s behaviour.
- A woman is not allowed to physically touch the opposite sex, regardless of the intention (unless it’s a crowded area and you have no choice but to be touched by a dude). This applies to all Muslims regardless of sex, but do they all comply? Of course not!
- She cannot be flirtatious, seductive, and/or extremely loud and obnoxious.
- She cannot date the opposite sex. OBVIOUSLY.
So, where do I get my information? Religious leaders, of both the Sunni and Shi’a sect. Both agree on what the basics of the hijab are (ones listed above). If you do not take my word on the matter, take it up with a religious leader in your mosque, or an ayotallah . . . email them, check out their website on the hijab, etc. It does not concern me if I don’t influence change in Muslim women to correct their “hijab-wear” or not . . . all that matters is to convey what a real hijab is, to anyone. I am sick of having females who don’t wear the hijab correctly, associating themselves with females who understand what a real hijab is, and wear it correctly. You hopefully understand what the difference between a headscarf and a hijab are now, and if you don’t, it’s not my problem that you’re a stubborn piece of shit.
