The Dutch government plans to ban the burqa and other face coverings, next year. If realized, the Netherlands will become the third European Union member states that prohibit use of the burqa, after France and Belgium.
“People should be able to see the faces of each other and recognize each other when meeting,” a statement from the Dutch Ministry of the Interior, Friday, January 27 yesterday, as quoted by Reuters.
The regulations will also be passed prohibiting the use of balaclavas and motorcycle helmets in place that should not be, as in the shopping complex. Geert Wilders of the Freedom Party (PVV), struggled to keep the burqa was passed prohibiting the statute.
The party proposes ban on the full use of the burqa in the Netherlands. For the offenders, will be subject to fines of up to 380 euros, or about Rp 4 million.
