I would like to highlight to you great qualities of a person. This person actually does not need any introduction. He is recognized as the most influential person in history.

I highly recommend you to watch the following video which will tell you who this person is and the reason he is ranked the most influential person in history.

Yes! He is Muhammad bin Abdullah (peace be upon him). He was born on 20th April 571 (or 12 Rabi’ al-awwal (Muslim’s month)) in Makkah (Mecca), Saudi Arabia.

Michael H. Hart (a Jewish American astronomer, mathematician, lawyer, chessmaster and scientist) chose Muhammad as the top person in his book The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History because Muhammad “was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels. It is this unparalleled combination of secular and religious influence which I feel entitles Muhammad to be considered the most influential single figure in human history”. His book has sold more than 500,000 copies and been translated in 15 different languages (source: Wikipedia).

In the following videos, you will know the opinion of the following famous non-Muslims about Muhammad:

  • Hercules (the great Roman Emperor)
  • King Al Najashi of Habasha (Ethiopia)
  • Alphonse Marie Louis de Prat de Lamartine (a French writer, poet and politician)
  • Sir George Bernard Shaw (an Irish Playwright, critic, political activist)
  • Mahatma Ghandi (the pre-eminent political and spiritual leader of India)
  • Thomas Carlyle (a Scottish satirical writer, essayist, historian and teacher)
  • George Wells (an English author)
  • Leo Tolstoy (a Russian writer)
  • Jean Louis Michon (a French orientalist)
  • Gustav Lobon (a French historian)
  • Will Durant (an American Historian, writer, philosopher, teacher)
  • Encyclopedia Britannica
  • Sarojini Naidu (an Indian freedom fighter and poet)
  • Diwan Chand Sharma (an Indian writer)
  • Edward Gibbon (an English historian and Member of Parliament) and Simon Ockley (a British Orientalist)
  • Christiaan Snouck Hurgronje (a Dutch scholar of Oriental cultures and languages)

Prophet Muhammad used to say “Treat others with kindness even though they are non-Muslims”.

There is a story about a blind person whom Muhammad treated like his own brother. The person condemned and cursed Muhammad without realizing that the person who fed him everyday without fail was Muhammad.

When Abu Bakar (a Muslim leader after the death of Muhammad) took over the job, the blind person did not want to eat as he felt that the treatment he received was not as good as that by the previous person.

When the blind asked where the previous person had been, Abu Bakar told him the previous person was Muhammad who had already died.

Only then the blind person realized that the man he had always condemned was the same man who fed food into his mouth everyday. He was full of regrets and later embraced Islam.

The beautiful thing is that Muhammad never got angry with that person and that was his personality of the highest quality.
