Thank you for taking your time to read my article. This short article will tell you the reasons why Muslims fast and what happens during Ramadan in the heavens! Enjoy!
So why do Muslims fast?
Ramadan is a month when Muslims fast through sunrise till sunset for 30 days! This had been commanded from Allah (God) and it is compulsory to keep it. Allah has promised great reward for those who fast and severe punishment in the afterlife who don’t!
Muslims abstain from eating food and all acts that would do their harm! Unfortunately, many people think that fasting is to just turn away from food. Fasting is when your whole body is in control! Your eyes should not see anything that can make Allah disappointed. Your mouth should not be used for foul mouthing, eating and arguing. Your ears should be abstaining away from haram music. Your hands and legs should not be used for fighting and going to places that will harm you and your duties. Please check ’10 Acts that will Weaken or Break your Fast Part 1.’ There are certain people who fast but they don’t really ask for forgiveness from Allah and devote themselves in religious duties such as prayer. The only act they can do is staying away from food. God wants people to fast so they become religious and God fearing. However, not many of us take this so seriously.
You mentioned something about heavens! Tell us more about this!
During the blessed month of Ramadan, the earth becomes drowned with blessings. All the doors of Hell are closed and all the doors of Heaven are open! Severe punishments given to those people in the afterlife who are going to Hell are all put to rest. During the end of each day (sunset) in Ramadan, the fast ends and Allah sends 1 million people into Heaven. Allah also accepts every prayer made to him at the time of sunset. Pray that your family members and friends enter Heaven as soon as possible.
