Swastika Vs. Inverted Cross

Exploring the feeling the swastika gives us all, as opposed to how the inverted cross is viewed by society. Trying to make people understand the inverted cross does not denote an evil person.

What would be your feelings if you saw someone wearing a swastika. Would it make a difference if the Nazi’s said that they didn’t believe in the same fascist values and they now gave food to homeless puppies? Would the swastika give you a warm and fuzzy feeling from then on? Of course not! If they call themselves the same thing and use the same symbols to represent themselves, then doesn’t it show some acceptance of what the organization represented in the past?

We can apply the historical significance if we are talking about political entities, but what a taboo it is to do the same for a religion. This is true, even if we all know the history. Should they be just as accountable for their history if they have the same symbols and use the same names. The fact is that the way they conducted themselves in the past should have an affect on that symbolism.

Thousands of men, woman, and children were killed in the name of God during the crusades. An entire culture was virtually wiped off from the earth because they were “only Godless heathens” to create a country “under God”. Countless were burned for being witches or heretics. The bible is the reason that women were treated the way that they were in this country for so long. The complete sexual suppression and the pederasty of the Priests are also destructive forces that seem to overlooked by the faithful. Hitler himself felt he was doing “God’s work”. He was trying to exterminate those that killed the redeemer. Just as in the swastika example, just because they tell us things have changed, but choose to represent themselves in the same way. So it is a surprise that to some, the cross is a symbol that brings uncomfortable feelings. They call themselves the same thing, and use the same symbols they did when the organization did these acts.

All that history should be brought up with the imagery of the cross. For most it doesn’t. If it did, the cross would soon become as obscene as a swastika. If I walk down the street displaying a swastika I would get strong opposition. I can wear a cross that has the fascist ,sexist, and racist history and no one will say a thing.

So, in the example above if you wanted to give homeless puppies food, you would just do it. You wouldn’t want to associate yourself with the Nazis because of their history, and you’d just do the right thing for your own reasons. So this is especially for the young people “becoming” Xian. You can be a good person and do the right thing, without associating yourself with an organization with the history of the crusades, anti-Semitism, anti-gay, killing the native American culture and people, witch burning, etc. ,etc. You can do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. Furthermore, if I decided to be…say muslim and walked around presenting myself as such, people would conclude that I’m accepting what it means to be muslim. Including all of the history and things that come with it. This should work the same way for Xians. It’s time to hold them accountable of what they are representing themselves as.

The swastika of the nazis is the inverted form of an ancient hindu symbol which is seen and used to this day. Attempts have been made to re-introduce it to western culture without success.
