1. All is one: everything means the same thing, One God, One Plan, One Idea. Stop trying to break things into little pieces. That’s not how reality works.

2. Fractal nature of reality: the smallest event imaginable is, in some way, built off of the same pattern as the whole of God’s creation. Every experience is a pointer to the whole truth, if anything seems pointless than it is an invitation to grater understanding.

3. Symbols: things that mean things are incredibly important and powerful: numbers, letters, pictures, analogies, patterns, words, The Word.

4. The Word: The Bible as the Word of God, Christ as The Word. God made known. The Bible is holy, literally infallible, perfectly complete, self interpreting, and sufficient.

5. Things end well: Happy endings, so far from being cheesy, unrealistic, or inartistic, are the only truth. A story that ends badly is only half told, or is a lie. Seen another way, that which is happy is not an ending, that which is an ending is not happy.

6. Commitment: you will never find your perfect soul mate, if by that you mean a person you will have a flawless relationship with. Love means commitment, find someone and stick with them no mater what. Divorce is a sin, and like all sins is not truly possible. Breaking up before marriage is also very bad, and is usually evidence of someone looking for the perfect person. This applies equally to friendship relationships.

7. Faith: There will always be clever arguments against your faith. Sometimes you will be reduced to saying “even if it is false, yet will I live as though it were true” Always keep the faith, always believe.

8. The Old Ways: are almost always better, be suspicious of he who would say otherwise.

8.5. There is a certain harmony and wholesomeness in the fundamental Baptist (clean shaven, shirt and tie, women in dresses, organ music, King James Version, no dancing, no mention of [gasp]sex[/gasp]), outlook on life. And I wish I wasn’t the only one who saw it.

8.5.5. Sometimes what the church needs is what everyone would probably call legalism.

9. Work as it is known now is an effect of the fall, it is no more to be prized or valued than sickness and death. There is thus no sin in avoiding it.

10. points 8 or 9 might be wrong. 3, 11 and all of the others are wrong if you don’t put God first.

11. We need truer religion, not less religion.

12. there is a standard of better and worse, higher and lower quality art, the most perfect art is Gods perfect Plan (the Word) in the whole of creation from beginning to end (and also the Bible) other art is good as it nears and reflects this standard. This is what it means to make Christ-like art.

13. this list is missing some really important things, some of them possibly more important than what it’s not missing.
