Published by The nearing of 2012 brings so many feelings, some of fear and some of hope of a new era. Many believe that that the prophecies and theories of 2012 are in direct relation to the Bible’s book of Revelations prophecy of the Apocalypse.
Revelations 6-8 describes the breaking of the “seals” that are the phases of the turmoil we will face. There are multiple things that I believe could happen with this; of course no one knows for sure what will happen and in what order. The first seal is said to take place when the Antichrist comes into power saying that he is for peace. This is said to take place after a time a tragic event that will leave us all desperate for a savior. Could this take place after the events of 2012? It is said that Planet X will intertwine with our solar system creating a great shift in our poles that will leave most of our planet underwater. This will definitely be a time of strife for all of us-hoping for a savior of some kind.
The book of Revelations also speaks of angels sounding trumpets to sound off different world events. The first trumpet is said to bring a violent storm that will involve hail and fire to the earth. The storm will throw off the world’s balance and destroy natural resources and kill people (Rev 8:7). The intertwining of Planet X is said to bring a meteor shower(hail mixed with fire) to the Earth as well as a shift in poles that will throw off our balance. It is also predicted to bring storms due to the shift including hurricanes, tidal waves, tornado’s etc. that will destroy our land, cover our continents with water and kill many people. If this is true, our plant life and crops will be destroyed.
An angel will sound a trumpet bringing a blazing meteor or burning mountain or comet to hurtle into the sea killing the sea creatures (Rev. 8:8-9). Could it be that the blazing meteor or comet is Planet X? The effects of the poles shift are said to cause many volcanoes to erupt(a burning mountain). With the world being drowned by the water of the oceans-it is possible that the eruption will stream into the sea around it.An Angel will sound their trumpet and a burning star (Planet X) will fall from the sky (Rev.8:10-11). Rev. 8:12 states that another trumpet will be sounded and will diminish the light of the sun,moon, and stars by one third. The pole shift is said to move the Earth so that much of it will be deprived of the light. This will affect weather-which is also predicted about the pole shift.
Is it the end time or a new beginning? The Bible says that in the end the Earth will be filled with violence and that we will accept it. A simple example and just one of many is speaking. Just decades ago the open talk of sex was unheard of; now it is on every television show and movie, as well as many conversations. Their will be famine and war and ways for all across the nations to know the name of God. This is very well possible with the internet, cell phones, and open flight that is available these days. As for war and famine, I feel that is a given.It is also said that a world governing will take place and rumored to be a part of the Antichrists will to offer the illusion of peace. We feel that peace is good, but in the end times it will only lead to our diminishing. The United Nations has made many great strides in the last few years making this possible. There has also been much talk of world wide treaties, governance, and peace amongst the nations.
To whether or not this is the end, I am unsure. I hope it is not, however who are we to say what is and is to come?What ever is to come, whether bad or good, natural or religious, is out of our control. Whether this is the Apocalypse or just a life altering event- we will have to prepare for the fact that we may die or even worst, live in the troubled times that are to come after.Either way, we should prepare not only tangibly but spiritually for the event. Que sera sera.
