A Basic Definition of Freewill

People who practice religion have misinterpreted the actual meaning of freewill. This is a brief explanation that clarifies this misunderstanding.

Freewill simply means that you freely make the choices without being influenced or coerced by an outside force. The introduction of religion was in itself a violation of peoples’ freewill. You have to think outside of the box before you can comprehend what I’m saying. In order to make decisions that are truly based on the concept of freewill you have to remove all of the belief systems that you have in your head and then start from the beginning. You have to start with a clean slate in order to see clearly. A belief system doesn’t necessarily have to be a religion it can be the way you perceive this world. You have to make the additional effort to find the truth out for yourself by accepting alternate realities.

When you accept any particular religion or belief system you are basically throwing your freewill down the drain. I understand that it is convenient to accept a religion because it gives you everything on a silver platter but at the same time it will prevent you from using your mind freely and clearly. All of the decisions that you make at that point will be based on the principals of your religion and not on your freewill. Just think about it for a while. When you perform a righteous deed, are you doing it because you know that it’s right or because God said so?

Life is a never ending learning experience and that is why it is a shame to accept any religion (my opinion) because you will not be able to understand any other reality except for the one that was taught to you by your religion. Nobody can ever claim to know everything, that is why we have to strive for the truth and not accept anything at face value. When you accept a particular religion, you are taking somebody else’s word for it. You cannot guarantee that everything about the religion is true or false.

Good article. I respect everyone’s faith, however if you are not careful, you do give up your freewill. That’s why it is important to walk into any religion with an open mind. There is a fine line between occult and freewill, and if not excercised properly you can run into problems.
