Anonymous and Their War on Scientology

A brief overview of what Anonymous is, and why they do what they do.

The group called Anonymous has often been misunderstood or confused with other groups. Let me say first, don’t believe all you read about them. How hard would it really be to impersonate a group with no leader, no faces and no names? Anonymous is a group that protests the church of Scientology, not because of their beliefs, but because of their actions. In many cases, the “church” has hurt its followers, taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from them and even killed them. More information can be found on www.whyweprotest.net, or on Anonymous094’s youtube account.

Now, I’m sure a lot of you are saying “well, it’s not like other religions haven’t done similar or worse things.” The fact is, you’re absolutely right. The Jews require money, and Christian churches can be quite annoying with their collections. However, these churches have a genuine cause and need for the money they receive. The money goes to fixing, expanding or paying the staff of the church. However, in scientology, the money has never been tracked, and to reach the final stage of their “enlightenment”, called OT8 (Operating thetan), it may cost as much as $400,000.00 USD. Personally, I don’t want to pay to get to my heaven and my God. Also, Scientologists will shun people who leave their church, and have a policy called “fair game” which allows them to “lie to, cheat or destroy” people who don’t believe in or are against their church. Thus Anonymous and their masks.

Now, don’t get me wrong, some of my family’s closest friends and co workers are Scientologists. They themselves are good people, which is why Anon protests against the church. I believe the church needs to be regulated, they need to stop taking so much money from their followers, personally, I don’t think it’s ok to do what they do.

You’re getting in pretty late in the game to explain all of this, and you still got a few of your facts wrong.

“Anonymous” is a collection of people that utilize the BBS boards known as the “chans” (such as 2chan, 4chan, 7chan, 420chan, etc..) and as a whole they have nothing to do with the Scientology protests.

A small number of Anonymous take part in the protests. The interior name for the protests is “Chanology”, and a lot of Anonymous are opposed to it, because either they don’t like the publicity or they just think it’s a worthless endeavor.

The fact that most of the sites pertaining to the protests try to declare that Anonymous as a whole is fighting scientology annoys most Anonymous members… so try to get it right next time.

Nice and reasonable comment…forgetting of course that all of the people involved with anonymous are being paid by someone. Also to is the fact that most of the people that you are quoting about “their bad experiences” with Scientology, have been labeled as out ethics people…in other words they did something to Scientology first. This decrying the fact that Scientology threw them out and wants nothing to do with them is raising quite a ruckus. They are not owed anything by the organization..especially after being labeled as people that were working against Scientology to start with. Many of these people are being taken advantage of by organizations interested in removing Scientology, mainly because of their work in the mental health field. Dianetics, the Science of Mind, has been attacked since the inception, actually before Scientology was born. Psychiatry has been the number one group interested in keeping their status quo and are quite probably footing “Anonymous” bills in order to cause Scientology problems.

When it comes down to it, it won’t matter at all until these people deal with their own problems, Scientology will be saddled with their legacy even though they are growing quite quickly, and it seems the faster they grow, the more of these we see.

supportsage, what are you on about?

Anonymous is not an organized group, beyond arranging meet-ups to demonstrate against Scientology. There is no leader, and certainly no one paying the bills. The only thing the people meeting up at Anonymous demonstrations have in common is that they feel what the Church of Scientology does – what with “fair game”, the ridiculously high fees, and incredible hostility towards critics and ex-members of Scientology – is wrong. This is also the reason, as I’m sure you know, why they wear masks. Because otherwise, they may be hunted down by the Church of Scientology and harassed, like many active critics of CoS have been and are.

Go to xenu.net if you want to be enlightened.

Supportsage, nobody in Anonymous is paid for doing what they do. And everyone who opposes the “Church” of Scientology can be an anon. My girlfriend protested against Scientology out of her own free will. I protest against Scientology out of my own free will. No anon means any harm to Scientologists. It’s quite the contrary, we actually want to help you. I think many scientologists are being mislead by you’re “leaders”. There are plenty of websites where you can find the information about Scientology that your leaders do not want you to know about. Like nurkus said, visit xenu.net and do some researching on your own. I can also recommend this site : http://www.scientology-victims-testimonies.com/

If you have questions or just want to talk about your beliefs with someone who absolutely means you no harm, you can always mail me at ‘kweenizenne@hotmail.com’. I would really like to talk to a scientologist to understand more about scientology.

    Friendly greetings.
