Mount Sinai or also known as the Mountain of Fire was the location where GOD ALMIGHTY met with Moses up on top of the mountain and gave to Moses the LAW “the Ten Commandments”. This mountain also was the place where the children of Israel made for themselves an idol made from gold in the image of calf and placed it upon an alter with engraving images of calves on the alter, and then worshipped the golden calf in the absent of Moses.
Mount Sinai is also believed to be the place where the “I AM” spoke to Moses from the burning bush, thus instructing Moses to return back to Egypt, so to prepare the children of Israel that GOD the “I AM” will cause Pharaoh to “Let my people go”. Moses had to return to Egypt, so that GOD could work through him to lead his people out of their captivity in Egypt, and then GOD lead the children of Israel through the wilderness for forty years preparing them and humbling them to receive and to enter into the Promised Land that GOD had promised by covenant through their forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Along the way, after GOD had parted the Red Sea to save his people from the pursuing Egyptian Army, and then once all of the children of Israel had reached to the other side to safety and the Egyptian Army following in close pursuit; the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob caused the sea to swallow up the Egyptian Army and all of their horses, chariots and men were swallowed up by the returning sea. GOD then led Moses and all of the children of Israel to a mountain where He was going to meet with Moses on the top of His Mountain – Mount Sinai.
Probably one of the most important locations in all of the Old Testament teachings is this mountain called “The Mountain of Fire” or “Mount Sinai”. For many decades people from all over the world have traveled to a mountain near Egypt to visit the supposed “Mountain of Fire”, but one important thing about this particular location is that this mountain near Egypt is not the real Mountain of Fire (Mount Sinai), because this location doesn’t line up with the biblical description of where the real Mount Sinai in located.
About eight months ago, I was given a documentary to watch by a brother in Christ and it was all about the search for the real Mountain of Fire (Mount Sinai). To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t really all that interested in watching this documentary, because I was already involved in a different Bible Study and did not think I had the time to begin another. Since my brother had insisted that I take it home and watch it I did and was captivated by the discoveries that had been found simply by using the biblical account found in Exodus and Leviticus as a road map. What’s more, the alter that the golden calf had been placed upon is still present at the foot of the Mountain of Fire and the description of the top of the mountain being blackened, this particular mountain does have, however the celebrated mountain that is near Egypt does not have any of the biblical features as described in the Holy Bible.
To be perfectly honest with you, I honestly am at a loss for words to properly do this story justice, so please make the time to watch this 1 hour and 6 minute documentary to see for yourself what these explorers have found in Saudi Arabia and learn what the WORD OF GOD teaches about this special place.

Thanks brother! I heard about this a few years ago and informed my mini congregation. Your article with the videos helped me to pin point the location, plus I saw by video what I would call proofs that this is the true Sinai – Horeb location, among other things (Red Sea crossing, etc.)
On that point, viz., Red Sea, some have said the wording in Hebrew is Reed Sea (Strong’s does indicate the word can be “reed” but is often translated in this context as “red”). They would then raise doubt on various issues. However, I think we have to remember the ancients, like us, would refer to certain areas at time by nicknames – reed in this case alluding to the sea that bordered Egypt which, by the Spirit, Isaiah speaks of as a reed if a man would lean his hand against it it would break and pierce his hand.
Anyhow, after watch all of the second, and most of the first video, I went to Google Earth to locate the area. One has to input the precise spelling – Jabal Al Lawaz. Aye! a blackened mountain although from a higher altitude there were other blackened areas in Saudi Arabia – but they could be different from this one. I was hoping to zoom in, but, alas, it got blurry. At 9,000+ feet I could see no detail.
Indeed, no wonder the Saudis got that area, and some others, fenced off! They know very well what is there!
Now, here’s another. I also heard some time back that the ark (Noah’s Ark) could very well be in Tibet and not Turkey. I forget all the reasons and need to go back and review it, but at that time it seemed quite plausible to me.
That brings me to my theory (and I’m sure others think this too), that the tower of Babel was further east than what some think – perhaps this is where some of the bricks for the Great Wall of China came from?
