Calling All Religions

I had a grand idea. I was going to write the supreme article on the history of all religions, their beliefs, their differences, the whole scheme of the subject matter. For three months, day and night, I researched every religion, even many you probably never heard of, and learned so much about each one. When it came time to amass my findings and write the article, I realized the most important thing, all religions, excepting a few, lead to the same thing, faith. That is when I decided to write this article.

More people have died for the cause of religious beliefs than all the non-religious wars put together. Most wars are fought over religion. Why is that? Spirituality and faith are supposed to be the exact opposite, that calling being for peace for all mankind. But God gave us free will and religious factions have used this free will to intimidate, torture, execute and defile other religions. This is not the faith I know. It is not just one religion fighting another, it is all religions fighting each other over land, jealousy, differences in belief and the idealism that they are the true religion above all others.

I am a spiritual person who does not believe in organized religion. You can read my article, Organized Religion vs. Spirituality, if you want to know more about my personal feelings. That being said, I wonder what God thinks of us? Of course, he already knows what is going to come to pass and it will be because of our faiths in Him.

The Christian Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. I believe that the idealistic realms of religious beliefs are the root of all evil. This can be traced back to the love of money in the early forms of religion. Needing to acquire the desires for conquest over other factions requires money. Therefore, the Christian Bible is correct.

I also believe the Vatican knows much more than they have revealed. This is nothing personal against Catholics, for they are more in the dark than others because the Pope is their Holy Leader. When what they are hiding is ever revealed, we will be shocked and amazed.

The horrors of the wars of Christians against Muslims, the horrors of anti-Semites, the horrors of the Crusades, the horrors of the Romans against the Jewish faith, the horrors of all these things lead to one thing, the idea that faith in God is justified by killing. It makes one understand the agnostic and the atheist, for what do they have to support any idea of God except all that has occurred in his name?

I, for one, cannot understand how people can think this way and live with themselves. It almost seems that all religions have  taken over by evil since the early days of yore. There are many religious people doing great work to help others in God’s name and I commend them for their courage. I know I will get a lot of negative feedback from this article, but it does make one wonder if religion is truly religion. It seems to have a mask over it’s faces that belie the truth of God. I believe in God and I always attempt, every day, to become more enlightened and get closer to Him, but I also look at the world of religion and it’s history and wonder why life takes life in His name.

Hit the nail on the head !- many of the ancient religious books are amazingly similar – yet the small differences are battled over whilst the big picture is missed…….
Your comments about the vatican are bang on – I am working on some interesting theories regarding this …..very interesting stuff – top article

Beliefs in God come from not knowing how the universe really is or how it really works.”When you believe in things that you don’t understand, then you’ll suffer”. Religion breeds disagreements and war. Religion is filled with mysticism, peculiar hatreds, and superstition (none of which is worthy of a properly functioning modern intellect). Care to try objective ethics based on human fairness and Justice?

Dear Will, faith is not the problem…religion isn’t the problem either. The problem is that some people ABUSE faith and religion and warp it to justify themselves.

The Bible warned us that in the last days there would be some people who pretend to be religious but whose consciences are dead. Not everyone who claims to know God actually does,Jesus said that not everyone who says to Him “Lord,Lord” will see the kingdom of heaven. Only those that truly Know God and do His Will will see the Kingdom of God. A person will be known by their fruits, if they REALLY Love and Know God, their lives will reflect it.

those who really and truly know God will live with this knowledge, And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16

God knows if we are being honest when we call on Him, or if we’re just giving Him lipservice.

    Take care

Well writen, I agree it is amazing how an individual can claim to be religious and yet be so evil, mean, and full of hatred.
Your article is very enlightening along with a breath of fresh air.
    Awesome
