Central in Apalit
This is the Convention Center of the Church of God International (CGI), popularly known as Ang Dating Daan. It is the place where they hold Thanksgiving to God, various activities and very important events in their congregation. The Presiding Minister of CGI is Brother Eliseo Soriano and Vice-Presiding Minister is Brother Daniel Razon. It is located in the heart of the Municipality of Apalit, Pampanga, where majority of the residents of this place are poor families.

This is the Central Office of the Church of Manalo, popularly known as Iglesia ni Kristo (INK). The owners of this Church are the Manalo Family, a corporation sole, now headed by Mr. Eranio Manalo. It is located in Diliman, along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, where majority of the residents of this place are rich, educated, famous politicians and businessmen as shown by the facts in the records of the Mayor’s Office of Quezon City, called as the wealthiest City in the Philippines for having the highest collection of taxes.
Definition of Terms

Apalit
A word idem sonans or same sounding with “Up-A-Lit”. “Up” means of a high level or heavenly as people points their fingers up, whenever they want to declare something higher/heavenly. “A-Lit” is “a light”, connotes brightness related to heaven or heavenly bodies like the sun, moon and the stars and the shining armor of God.

Diliman
This is taken from the root word “dilim”, a Tagalog or Pilipino term referring to darkness/night. Diliman means in English as darkness or dark place. Darkness is descriptive of a place where there is no light but total darkness.
The Theory
Having defined the significant terms of this article, we can now explore in our minds supported with the succeeding facts and circumstances how this author arrived at the theory that the places where the two “Centrals” of two opposing religious organizations, the Church of God International (CGI) or ADD and the Iglesia ni Kristo (INK) in this end times where situated, are not just a coincidence but preordained.
Facts and Circumstances
These two religious organizations are exactly opposite from each other in many ways, such that, one can be accepted as “from the light” and the other one as “from darkness.” As the succeeding facts and circumstances will be presented to the readers, we will use CGI and INK to shorten the presentation as we go further in our discussions. To enumerate the basis of this author, among others, the following are the most apparent and pragmatic comparison based on notorious facts, actual research, interviews and observations, to wit:
God vs. Man
The Central in Diliman, INK for short, believes that Jesus Christ is just a man. On the other hand, the Central in Apalit, CGI for short, believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, thus, Jesus is a God and not just a man.
Physical vs. Spiritual Lavishness
Apparently, the INK is wealthy as manifested by their luxurious and grandeus places of worship and residential buildings for free occupancy by their workers and church officers not to mention the sumptuous palace where the Manalo’s are comfortably residing and not that visible to the public view
On the other hand, the CGI’s place of worship is an unfinished building or edifice. For a long time already, it remains unfinished due to scarcity of funds. Their Locales or places of worship are mere rented humble spaces, comparable during the time of Jesus Christ where in order to meet the apostles and their followers, most of the times, they gather in rented spaces or even just stay outside, under the heat of the sun because they have no money and permanent places to go or lay their heads.
Holy Supper
The INK celebrates their Holy Supper in the morning, whereas, CGI celebrates theirs in the evening, as to what the word supper connotes which should be after dusk or after sunset or end of the day and as what the Scriptures dictates
Treatment for Non-members
The INK believes that non-members of their church are already destined or bound to go to hell. Whereas, the CGI believes that non-members are dependent for the mercy of God’s justice. Thus, they are not necessarily bound to go to hell but will still have hope for God’s mercy.
Characters of members
In the INK, once a person becomes a member, they stop being merciful, instead their characters are worsened, becomes more proud, cruel and unsympathetic. However, in the CGI group, once a person becomes a member, they become merciful, charitable and reformed to a true Christian, in words and in deeds.
Killing for the Church vs. Dying for the Church
Records show that there are lots of cases decided by the Supreme Court and published in the broadsheets, tabloids or local newspapers showing that some members and ministers of the INK are killing and committing various heinous crimes, harassments and persecutions against non-members of their church, including CGI workers and members. However, the CGI members and ministers are the ones being killed or murdered, harassed, persecuted and even exiled because of plots to kill and always encounter danger to their lives and limbs where the INK executioners are determined to do harm to the brethren of the CGI group.
Rich vs. Poor
The Central in Diliman is a very wealthy organization which can be likened to Egypt in the times of Moses, while the Central in Apalit is a very poor organization with so many debts and obligations to finance their propagation by spreading the Words of God through the media and Bible Expositions. Almost 99% of the membership of the CGI comes from the poorest of the poor reminiscent of the Israelites, the slaves of the Egyptians before, but they are the chosen ones of God.
Buildings and structures of worship of the INK are so lavish and extravagant. On the other hand, the CGI group is so modest, likened during the times of Jesus Christ holding their meetings and church activities in humble edifices and rented places, or even in the streets.
“Biso-biso” vs. Holy Kiss
INK believes that the Holy Kiss is “biso-biso”, kissing by touching either cheek to cheek or even with a hug or body touch. Whereas, CGI believes that the Holy Kiss is not physical but spiritual. A greeting of brotherly love where a Christian can even send his Holy Kiss to a fellow Christian, beyond borders and worldwide.
Influential vs. Insignificant
INK group is very influential and powerful to the extent of controlling the government and politicians, from the President down to the lowly policemen and rank and file government employees. On the other hand, CGI is often treated unfairly because of their poverty and religious beliefs, their human rights are time and again violated, they are experiencing harassments and persecutions because of the dictates and insinuations of the leaders of the INK group, by using their influence, money and power. The CGI Ministers and Workers are often brought into courts to answer false and capricious accusations as it is very easy for the INK group to exercise influence peddling by using their wealth merely to persecute and harass the CGI group.
Visibility vs. Non-visibility
Leaders of the INK are not visible to the public and even to their members, whereas, the leaders of the CGI are always out and on the go, helping people physically and spiritually, propagating the Words of God, the reason why they are being haunted by the executioners of the INK for the fear of the latter, due to the dwindling or diminishing number of membership compared to the phenomenal increase of membership of the former
DEC (Decreasing) vs. ADD (Increasing)
The number of membership in the INK is apparently decreasing, on the other hand, the number of membership in CGI, its increase is phenomenal or extraordinary, a manifestation of divine guidance outside mere human efforts. Recently, while the CGI is gaining huge numbers of membership through mass indoctrination worldwide, baptizing thousands of new true Christians, the INK, is again at the exact opposite. In fact currently, they baptized a measly four (4) individuals in a mass indoctrination, and they were very much proud of it already.
Conclusion
Now therefore, if you have eyes, ears and other senses working, it is now high time to open it widely, then, determine for yourselves within reason that the existence in this end times of these two ever contrasting organizations, the Church of God International (CGI) versus the Iglesia Ni Kristo ni Manalo (INK), are not indeed a coincidence but strongly pre-ordained.
Take heed therefore people of the Philippines and be aware of the phenomenon in religion where this beautiful country was blessed to have been chosen by God to bear the true religion. Notwithstanding, the fact that the religion coming from darkness was also given birth here, in order to strengthen and fortify the similarity of occurrences and events that has already happened during the times of Adam and Eve and also the times of Moses, where both good and evil dwells in one place as well, where evil tries to devour the good men, but still frustratingly ended up grinding its teeth because they cannot thrive.

For your information, here in the Philippines, it is boldly written in their buildings, Iglesia ni Kristo. But in some of the writings it was made Iglesia ni Cristo. It is too shallow a reason for you not to believe. Be more constructive and don’t get hurt if you’re a fanatic of the Manalos. You just have to open your mind and heart, that is, if you still have a heart.

The authors reference to the INC’s “luxurious and grandeus places of worship” [perhaps he/she means grandiose] in comparison to the “unfinished building or edifice” of the ADD clearly proves that God provides for and blesses His church (The INC). Remember that the INC in the Philippines started humbly, the initial churches were made of nipa nuts. And besides, most INC members are poor. But with God’s grace and blessing, the INC grew with the grandiosity and wealth the author pointed. This is not the workings of men; it is God’s hands at work.

‘Dating Daan’ leader charged with sodomy
elisorianoTHE provincial prosecutor of Pampanga has recommended the filing of rape charges against a television evangelist who allegedly sodomized a former leader of his congregation on two occasions.
In a five-page resolution, Pampanga acting provincial prosecutor Jaime Umpa recommended that Ang Dating Daan leader Eliseo Soriano post a P400,000 bail bond (P200,000 for each count) for his temporary liberty.
“After a careful evaluation of the evidence submitted by the parties, the [prosecutor] finds that probable cause exists to hold respondent for two counts of rape,” the resolution said, rejecting Soriano’s defense that the accusations against him were “fabricated, baseless and malicious.”
Soriano denied the allegations against him, saying that they were part of a “demolition job” perpetrated by the Iglesia ni Cristo church, with whom his group has been feuding.
The charges against Soriano stemmed from the complaint of Daniel Veridiano, a former assistant general secretary of the Church of God International, the formal name of his sect.
Veridiano said that in 1998, Soriano asked him to join him in Apalit, Pampanga, where he met with the church leader everyday.
At 1:30 p.m. on May 17, 2000, Veridiano said that Soriano called for him and asked him to go to the latter’s room, where Soriano allegedly asked him to give him a massage.
Out of fear for the respondent, Veridiano said, he was not able to resist when Soriano ordered him to first masturbate him before Soriano allegedly sodomized him.
Veridiano said similar events took place a year later, on June 8, 2001, with Soriano under almost the same circumstances.
Veridiano said he also saw Soriano doing the same thing to the other workers of Ang Dating Daan.
In his counteraffidavit, Soriano described Veridiano’s accusations as baseless and malicious.
Soriano also said that Veridiano was never an assistant secretary general of the church.
He said that Veridiano misappropriated the funds of the church to benefit himself as head of Ang Dating Daan’s communication and information technology department.
Soriano also accused Veridiano of raping other members of Ang Dating Daan.
He said that the filing of rape case against him by Veridiano was a retaliatory and desperate act by Veridiano after the latter was expelled from the church sometime in August 2005.
He accused the Iglesia ni Cristo of being behind what he said was “the latest albeit desperate attempt to harass, intimidate and blemish” his reputation.
He also filed perjury charges against Veridiano.
But the provincial prosecutor dismissed Soriano’s defense that he could not have committed rape because he was somewhere else at the time.
“While it does not appear that respondent employed force, threat or intimidation, he exercised moral ascendancy over the complainan,” Umpa said.
“Moral ascendancy or influence exercised by the accused over the victim substitutes for the element of physical force or intimidation in cases of rape, and it may be added, acts of lasciviousness. The crime is aggravated by the fact that the victim, herein complainant, is a religious engaged in legitimate religious vocation or calling and is personally known to be such by the offender at the time of the commission of the crime.” Rey E. P1bn libel charges against a religious leader

SOME concerned Muslim leaders in Metro Manila yesterday filed a P1bn libel suit against Ang Dating Daan spiritual leader Eliseo Soriano before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office (MPO) for allegedly uttering unsavoury remarks and criticisms against Islam and Muslims in general, in a video release to his followers.
Among the complainants in the libel suit were Hadji Baguio Limbona, Mack Macalanggan, Imam Nor Mamolawan, Elias Mangorising, Nasser Pendolonan, Pundoma Mifantao, Imam Ali Baulo, Hadji Esmail Castar, Isah Usman, Ustadz Abdul Nasser Elias, Abdul Ghaffur Magarang, Imam Mohamad Salik and Alamada Sanggakala.
According to the Muslim leaders, Soriano, in his video releases distributed to his followers on February 26, uttered malicious sweeping and all-embracing imputation of crimes and uttering irresponsible statements, remarks and criticisms against them.
Macalanggan, who is a freelance journalist, said what Soriano did has exposed the Muslims and the Islamic religion to public contempt and ridicule.
It has caused us dishonour, disgrace, shame and dis-esteem, Macalanggan said.
What else is new with all these persecutions. It only strengthens the truth that Mr. Eliseo F. Soriano is really a man of God and he is not more than Christ Jesus, who was persecuted and even crucified by His enemies because of telling and preaching the truth.
As the Holy Bible says, Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue. God is truth and He wants the truth in you. Okatokat or “takot ako”, stop lying and ruining the life of Bro. Eli instead, pray that you be saved and not be condemned in the hell of fire.
As the Proverbs 10:18-19 states, “Whoever spreads slander is a fool…but he who restrains his lips is wise.
Slander seeks to destroy and the destroyer of men since the beginning of the universe, is satan, thus, it is really very clear now that the persecutors of Bro. Eli are truly the son of satan, whose doings is to always pass along slanderous remarks to ruin Bro. Eli’s reputation because of their fear of being ridiculed for their unchristian ways of life.
I think the detractors of the organization of Bro. Eliseo F. Soriano has nothing more to say but, all non-sense for the sake of ruining the reputation of this phenomenal preacher. Indeed, a tree will not be attacked if it does not bear good fruits for surely they would like to eat its fruits.
