Creation vs.. Evolution: The Everlasting Debate, Part One

Alas, the everlasting debate amongst men. Who is right? Who is wrong? Only those who look at real truth and factual science have the answers.

Mankind: the overall epitome of a self-absorbed foolishness and a self-serving ignorance.  Like many areas of life, when truth is presented people flee in search of error; they attack that which they do not understand.   But why?  Do people fear what is unknown to them?  Or do they fear truth?  Moreover, do they fear the origin of truth?  Throughout history, mankind has continually digressed into providing their own answers for the origin of our natural realm.  And so enters the everlasting debate between God-fearing Creationists and self-glorifying Evolutionists.   Both claim the other has no verifiable science, but only one says both are faith based.   How do we determine who holds the key to the origin of our universe?  We look at the facts and apply a logical, common sense approach.

As we begin to explore this timeless debate, consider this example of the perfect evolutionist:

Please be aware, though the position of Intelligent Design is not in full agreement with Creation, it goes to show the blatant error that even the most prominent evolutionists recognize in regards to the evolutionary theory.

In the attempt to give a fair and balanced depiction of the positions taken by evolutionists, we will first look at their theory and reasoning for the origin of life.  Of course the most popular theory is the Big Bang.  Though some have described the Big Bang as, “The explosion from zero volume at zero time of a corpuscle of energy equivalent to the mass and radiation that now constitute the Universe….”, it could otherwise be stated as the moment in time past when a single, molecular measure of energy spontaneously erupted into the ever-changing universe.  This “…hypothesis of the evolutionary atom…” is the framework of evolution.  However, what evolutionaries continually disregard is the undeniable fact that their theory only presents a model for what came after.  The Big Bang has no means of revealing what caused it to happen.  Therefore, scientists are merely making an assumption as to what “must” have occurred.  They’re reversely applying what they believe to be a logical cause-and-effect relationship.  No individual, whether claiming the title of scientist, atheist or evolutionist, can with certainty verify this theory as factual.  According to the scientific community, the origin of life is a mystery.  Yet amidst these mountains of error, there are many scientists who would claim otherwise.  Accordingly, these scientists would likewise hold to the existence of a Creator.

Other evolutionists don’t even go as far as trying to explain the origin of the universe.  They simply argue that all species evolved from an ancestral gene pool.  These are the same people who uphold that evolution is currently ongoing.  Many of these evolutionary scientists likewise hold to the theories of Global Warming and Climate Shifts.

On the other side of the debate stand the Creationists.  In general, these individuals proclaim the Bible to be the inherent, infallible, perfect and complete Word of God.  From it all truth flows, and in it all answers are found.  Creationists firmly stand on Genesis 1 being the literal portrayal of the origin of the universe.  Genesis 1:1 states, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”  Unlike renowned evolutionists, when a Creationist is questioned about the origin of the universe, he has an answer.  This fact is upheld in the Bible.  Those who flee from God’s truth have no explanation or reasoning.  Clearly stated in Proverbs 1:7, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”  Yet, despite the outlandish ignorance and blasphemous references given by many atheists, scientists, and evolutionists, they can still be presented with truth.  If He so chooses, God can open their minds and hearts to hear the blessed beauty of truth.  “My son, if thou wilt receive my words and hide my commandments within thee, so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom and apply thine heart to understanding; yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hidden treasure, then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.  For the LORD giveth wisdom; out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”  -Proverbs 2:1-6

Which would you rather believe?  Are you drawn to the inconclusive hypothesis of evolutionists?  Or, do you realize the truth and validity of God’s Word?  For those of you who answer “yes” to the former question, I urge you to reconsider.  Take the time to study both views.  Understand the illogical foolishness of evolution, and come to embrace the steadfast truthfulness of Creation.

You do not seem to understand evolutionary biology or how it differs from cosmology. There are no real convincing arguments here and it is obvious you have never read a book by Richard Dawkins or any other serious scientist. Your literal understanding of Genesis has obviously caused you to simply accept the fundamentalist position and thereby cease to search for any truth in proven science. No serious biblical scholar accepts Genesis 1 as factual truth. This article is a simple rewrite of a poorly researched, one-sided opinion from an obvious Christian who believes that to be bible-believing means to be literal and close minded. Shame really as you are missing out on so much mind expanding content…

Mike is obviously trying to impose secular thinking onto God’s word, that should never be done.

Instead we who are Christian need to conform to God’s way and word rather than trying to compromise His word with the fallible theories of man.

God’s Word is clear, and True from the beginning. God was there, we weren’t, period.

Just because you say something is true, doesn’t make it so. Why don’t you give some evidence to why the 2000 year old bible is fact instead of just pointing at the words within it and saying, “look it says here God made the earth and the heaven; therefore, it’s fact.” How is that in any way fact?

It’s funny how in your video Ben Stein wants to do “science” to research intelligent design. Like it really requires science to say that God made everything. Then the idiot keeps asking Dawkins if he believes in any gods.Of course Richard fucking Dawkins doesn’t believe in any god! Evolution is real, anyone who says otherwise is in denial and blindly follows religion.

    Sir Gunfire,

Not trying to be mean, but the term “rational atheist” is actually an oxymoron, because atheists (who believe they came from an unintelligent, blind, and non-rational source) have no basis whatsoever by which to account for the ability to think rationally.

If atheism were true, we would be no more intelligent than pond scum.

    That being said,

Only BECAUSE God (who is ETERNAL and INFINITELY intelligent) exists are we capable of rational thought and truly understanding anything in the first place.

He has after all bestowed in us intelligence.

Evolutionary teaching on the other hand as mentioned earlier, claims man originated in an UNINTELLIGENT primordial soup,

I have a news flash that should have been obvious…

An unintelligent source could never bestow any form of intelligence, so if you really believe you came out of primordial soup, you are in fact saying you have no reason to trust your mind.

You might try to say “evolution” gave you intelligence, but that’d be insufficient.
Since supposedly evolution is “blind” it could NOT account for an intelligent mind.

Even Darwin acknowledged that if his theory be true, then the mind of a human (or any other being for that matter) would not be trustworthy.

He believed humans “evolved” from lower species, and he stated such.

    He said

“the horrid doubt always arises whether the convictions of man’s mind, which has been developed from the mind of lower animals, are of any value or at all trustworthy. Would anyone trust in the convictions of a monkey’s mind, if there were any convictions in such a mind?”

Just some things to think on, and may God’s Love keep you well.

    Just so there’s no misunderstanding,

I did not say “If you’re an atheist you’re no more intelligent than pond scum”

What I did say was “If atheism were TRUE we’d be no more intelligent than pond scum”

Everyone KNOWS God exists, creation itself is a testament to Him and the Heavens Declare His Glory.

He gave every man and woman a conscience for a reason friend, take heed of it

It would seem Gunfire was not interested in discussion but merely set out (unjustly) to attack the author. As for scientists, You’d think the scientific community would prefer people that actually USE their
God-given minds rather than someone who believes they were a lucky accident.

It is some atheists blatant hostility that makes discussion with many of them rather unproductive, the irony is that these same atheists are the people that are constantly saying Christians are arrogant.

    Anyway,

I say BOTH sides could be a little more civil in discussion, then perhaps we’d actually get something done rather than constantly being at each others throats.

“And so enters the everlasting debate between God-fearing Creationists and self-glorifying Evolutionists. Both claim the other has no verifiable science, but only one says both are faith based. How do we determine who holds the key to the origin of our universe? We look at the facts and apply a logical, common sense approach.”

This is completely inaccurate, there is no basis for Creationism in science but rather in the Bible. Evolution is rooted within the biological sciences and has many hypothesis within it that are critiqued in that the incorrect ones are thrown out and the ones that seem correct survive until either they are verified or thrown out. There is no reasoning within the bible, and if you do think there is then you need to stop being intellectually dishonest with yourself, read Proverbs 3:5.

This creationism vs. evolution is NOT a scientific debate and wouldn’t exist if people actually observed the facts and used a common sense approach. If you still want to take such a literal approach then please explain to me how pi equals 3 (I Kings 7:23-26). This is especially interesting since the Egyptians and Mesopotamians both had better estimates of pi at around 3.16 and this was during 1650 B.C., not that has anything to do with infallibility of the bible.

  12. Jonathon says:
    March 8, 2010 at 1:56 am

Apparently people didn’t read “Dear Sir”’s post.

If atheism were true, there would be no such thing as “fact” or “correct” if atheism were true and we were ultimately nothing but evolved bags of molecules, there’d be no such thing as truth in the first place.

Thus when atheists say things like “This is inaccurate” they are being inconsistent with what they claim to believe.

If atheism were true and there were no ultimate truth after all, then NOTHING would be a “fact” or “true” or “false”

Only because there is an ultimate Objective and Unchanging source of truth (God) can we know what’s Truth or what is Error.

  13. To Answer the Question posed says:
    March 8, 2010 at 2:10 am

As for the question regarding Pi

The circumference of the vessel described in 1 Kings 7:23 was precisely 30 cubits, which comes down to about thirty arm-lengths of a medium seized gentleman. The diameter of the vessel was precisely 10 cubits, which comes down to ten arm-lengths of the same or some other gentleman. The ratio between the two was exactly 3, which comes down to nothing but a hardy handshake between two gentlemen.

In his lovely little book The Joy Of Pi, David Blatner inserts an anonymous statement (page fifty-four):
    What is pi?

Mathematician: Pi is the number expressing the relationship between the
circumference of a circle and its diameter.
Physicist: Pi is 3.1415927 plus or minus 0.000000005.
    Engineer: Pi is about 3.

Point well taken. 1 Kings 7:23 says nothing about the theoretical value of pi. It just states that a line of thirty cubits went around a ten cubit vessel.
