Objective
Majority of the religion that is available nowadays share a common objective, to help us achieve our potential. These religion have a noble cause which is what attracted the many in the first place.
Most religion that we are familiar have long history.
Faith
To be a true believer, we need to have faith. To have faith is to believe in something even though we cannot see.
I realize many of us are born into the religion. It is our duty to learn what it means to be of that religion. Otherwise, we are just a believer in name only and do not truly have faith.
Share the faith
Most religions encourage us to share our faith – to share the good news. The most effective way to do that is by our actions. Our actions reflect our faith. Many faithful have shown the way. Among the ones we have seen are:
- Mother Theresa
- Cheng Yen (who formed Tzu Chi Organization)
I am sure there many more that I am not aware of. Their deeds are excellent witness to their religion.
Disgrace to the faith
In history as is now, there are many who have disgraced the faith. If you watch movies like 3 Musketeers, you could see how religion was corrupted and used for greed and power. The crusades was another example of the abuse of religion.
Many have learned from mistakes of the passed and have rightly ruled that religion and politics should not mix.
However, for those who are in power due to religion, continue to use religion as a leverage.
Conclusion
So the question now, is are you a witness to your religion or are you disgracing it?
