The Easter season is a wonderful time of the year, to acknowledge the Lord’s sacrificial death on the cross, for a fallen human race. What God originally created perfect, was soon infiltrated with corruption and sinful practices.

One righteous preacher, by the name of Noah, found favor in the sight of the Lord. Through communicating with God, Noah was given explicit instructions to build an ark. This was in preparation for a ‘Great Flood’, that God would bring, to destroy all of creation. Noah obeyed the Lord, doing everything exactly as he was directed. He continued to preach words of warning to everyone he came in contact with, of this ever-nearing fate. They mocked, laughed, made fun of Noah’s prophetic messages, which were eventually ignored. After years of hammering and constructing this over sized boat, he became a laughing stock to those who gazed his direction.

Then, the final day came, when two by two the animals were loaded onto the Ark, along with Noah, his wife, their three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their three wives. After they were all safely on board, God closed the door behind them and it began to rain. Now, this wasn’t an area where a cloud burst was a common occurrence. A down pour was unheard of, in this region of the world.

After days of a deluge of water pouring out of the sky, many came to the realization that what Noah had preached for all those years, was true. Yet, God had closed the Ark’s door and it was too late for these to repent and enter in. They all perished, along with every other living thing on earth.

Why is this story still so very important today? Because Jesus Christ came to earth over 2,000 years ago, preaching an almost exact, same word of warning. Except man be saved and enter into God’s spiritual Ark of safety, they too will perish. Except this time, God has chosen to use a lake of fire, more commonly known as ‘Hell’. Except a man, woman, or child receives the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior, they can never enter into the Kingdom of God.

Repent, ask Jesus to forgive your sins and wash your heart clean. Turn completely away from your life of sin, and start all over again, cleansed and forgiven. Give up all of your old ways and allow the Lord to lead you, from this day forward. Now, when you pass out of this world, heaven will be your eternal home!

Very true, Kharla. If only we listen to the words of the holy men and hold hi finger in the sense that we practice what they preach there would not be so much suffering in this world.

    Great write.

Thanks for sharing and reminding us all that we still have time to mend our ways.
